I would buy the TV that I showed, that needs the repair work, but between being out of money for the time being and being behind the 8 ball, cause of the bank and a loan from last month($163.44), I can only pay bills on the 31st, so no tv, not even on a card or a credit line.

That opossum isn't laughing. As far as I can tell, possums are not smart enough to have a sense of humor.

Awwwwwwwwwww raccoon clips and Suzie's pic's :) ooh and an opossum popped in too! :)

Hello :) *compose face for confession* I still have to catch up on the thread before this - that would be update... *do complicated maths in head* *seek assistance from fingers* erm... 21. But as I'm being deposited at the beginning of threads (and some of them are so good for a re-read that scrolling around looking for posts from the 1st April gets forgotten) I thought I'd leap to this one first :) and then work backwards from there...

@Vic
:( so sorry to hear your TV woes! Mine - a CRT (carbon dated - circa ark) is definitely approaching a demise. I'm hoping to witness it. They often prove - interesting. I'll obviously keep everyone here informed - depending on the degree of interesting achieved of course :) For the moment though, I'm managing to keep it alive by giving it a good thump after shifting a cat or two off it first. (The other way round invites glares.) and I can count on two fingers the programs I will miss when it goes - three of em :)

Good luck finding a good deal for one! :)

Opossums are a very primitive species. It is highly unlikely that opossums have a sense of humor.

I don't know if raccoons have a sense of humor, but they certainly exhibit playfulness and a sense of fun.

Welcome back Annie. Yeah I found this on ebay..

So far $10.00 is all gofundme has raised so far, everyone else is either offering advice and no cash. I found one on ebay for $174.75 + gas $38.99 to pickup the tv, but that ends at 1:59pm in maybe 20 minutes, I did ask the seller if they're going to relist, haven't heard back on that, the TV is in need of repairs to the led strip on the right. It's a Samsung UN55D6050TFXZA, with no stand, that's another $53.90 from one seller or $72.49 from another for the real stand. I'm out of luck for the next several months, since I have DMV for the car to pay for, smog check for the car, property taxes, worst time of year to happen, I'm dead in the water, waiting for the KGV and Rodney to finish Me off, Rodney can do that by herself, KGV is impotent, a lightweight...

Vic, How about a local pawn shop? If you see something you like,
you might be able to negotiate a lower price than whatever they
have posted.

Incidentally, yes, I would move and have moved my TV(s) and couch
closer to one another. The moves haven't blocked any paths through
the house, though. I live alone and I don't worry that my TV,
furniture, and cat litter boxes (!) are where anyone else might
think they should be. I moved a dresser and TV into the middle of
my bedroom so that I could see it better from the bed.

When you have very little money, a TV is a luxury. You really don't
need one. There's radio and books, and I think there are still a
few newspapers around. And you do have the Internet. It was very
difficult for me to cancel my
DirecTV service. I was "afraid" that I'd miss something. But I have
an antenna to pick up my local stations, and I subscribe to Netflix,
Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Between those I can see everything I want to
see and for much less than I paid for DirecTV. I'm not saying this is
a solution for you, or that anything like
it is a solution for you. I'm just citing my own example of learning
to be a little more frugal. (Oh, I have three TVs. I don't need three
TVs. No one person does. It's a dumb thing on my part, having spent
that money.)

I'm a little concerned that you say you can't afford something like
spaghetti, which I consider quite inexpensive, and you're worried that
you might not be able to buy the large TV that you want.

I'm not judging you. Don't get me wrong. I just wonder if you have
your priorities right. I've had mine screwed up for a long time, so
I'm not bragging. I'm also not looking for a confession, if that's
what you're thinking. I don't need a response. I'm just putting
in my two cents and hoping it will spur you on to move some things
around so that you can eat decent and tasty food, have a roof over your
head, and clothes on your back.

I hope this hasn't offended you.
~Sue~

There is one in Barstow CA, here there is only gas stations, a couple military bases, the US Post Office, fast food and a small market, I'm still broke until at least March 2016...

And before you know it, Shaven Yak Day will be here.

Time to hang our diapers, fill our rubber boots with cole slaw and wait for the great Shaven Yak to arrive in his enchanted canoe.

Yes there are 2 pawn shops in Barstow, I haven't called them yet.

What few books I have, I've read, I have no newspapers, I used to deliver them once, I can't stand the smell of printers ink anymore, I do need to move the empty aquarium, but being glass and the stand being wood it's very heavy, I'd have to unload it, put stuff that's in the way elsewhere, then lift up one end by the stand carefully, then move that end to an undented section of carpet, go to the other end and push on the stand carefully(I did this once, so please don't do this, I know what I'm doing), then move that end to aim at the area where I want the Tank to go to, then go back to the end that I moved 1st, then push carefully and soon enough it will be in place, then I can put back the stuff that goes with the aquarium tank and move the earthquake resistant tv stand of mine, the tv just sits there, while the stand keeps the tv isolated from ground movement, the tv stand has 4 bolts, one in each corner, the tv stand has worked pretty good.

Graces box is in the front bathroom tub, that is the only spot for Her modified automatic box. I use the other tub, in the main bathroom.

You don't want to know what I spend on cable, though it's not a real lot, since its for tv and for internet access.

I only have 1 tv. Well I just have a limited budget, mind you I put rent, food, taxes, repairs and bills ahead of extra spending, I just don't have extra until Jan, at least not without more borrowing, which I have to pay back(100), along with the bank(63.44), that 163.44 would have been My extra, but things came up in the past that had to be repaired, like the kitchen faucet, the swamp cooler, buying parts for the replacement PC, for My car(bumper strips, speedometer assembly w/a working tach), clothes(socks{almost too small at 1x, should be 2x next time}, misc clothes), a phone, a tool(a torx T5 & T6 security screwdriver), etc, etc, boring I know.

I don't have DirectTV(now merging with AT&T I've read), I did call TWC and I mentioned My TV is dead, at first the guy thought it was their equipment, I said no that is working fine, I just have a dead TV set, so I think My cable bill will be coming down some, how much? That I don't know, they know I'll be watching TV online at their site until further notice(I don't need to return anything), the on demand portal, I have the Lorax waiting for Me there.

I did find a place in SantaFe Springs that sells TVs, they have two Sanyo 55" tv's for $250.00ea and a Seiki 55" for $350.00, of course I'd have to pick them up, I need to see if I can stuff one in the back seat or in thru My trunk with both rear seats folded down, they might fit that way(I might need to remove the broken cd changer), enough to where I can close the trunk lid(rear bonnet), that's how I got a 6' long aquarium reflector home, it also means $40 for gasoline for the car for the drive down into the area near Whittier CA.

Foods just a budget item, I don't want to spend a whole lot on food, this month I'll be spending about $97.52, that is for Grace and Me. Spending on spaghetti and such I could do in a heartbeat, but it would take away from other areas, this month I've mentioned already above.

As part of My bills I have to pay on 3 credit cards and a credit line(the smallest I plan on getting rid of asap), as well as rent, water, trash, natural gas, electricity, My phone(I just got a weather alert, on a dust storm that is supposed to hit here, let it come, I'm ready), car insur(mandatory here), gasoline(for My car, I've got enough now I think, so zero there this month), a payday loan(100.00, a one time charge, I hope) and the bank(63.44, a one time charge, I hope), That's everything, in a nutshell. My budget is balanced, I know where every dime should be going on Friedday.

Vic, I was unable to find your gofundme entry. I typed in your name - nothing.
I typed in where you live - nothing. I typed in television. You did not come up.

I have had this problem with gofundme before with another friend. I can never seem to find the entry unless given a direct link.

Vic, feel free to post a link here.
