This is the latest online auction site that is advertising on TV. The deal is, all items start at 1 cent and each bid goes up by one cent. They advertise $500 TVs going for $29.95 to the winning bidder. Here's what they really make. Each bid costs 60 cents. That TV had 2,995 bids x $0.60 = $1797 + $29.95 = $1,826.95. They say that if you lose the auction you can apply the cost of your bids toward buying the item at their advertised price. No wonder they brag that shipping is always free. More proof there is a sucker born every minute. Not the winner but the other 2,994 who threw away their money. More proof there is a sucker born every minute. Not the winner but the other 2,994 who threw away their money. Seen there adverts on TV for several years now. I looked into their "auction" business model (aka the "legalese" or "fine print") about 2 weeks after seeing the first ad and was glad I never gave them any money. Yes, it's legal and a lot of people will think it is a "good deal". |

More proof there is a sucker born every minute. Not the winner but the other 2,994 who threw away their money. I found the site lacking and went elsewhere. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
