This might seem like quite a minor point to bring up but every time I download new WU's I have to wait 5 minutes between batches. Is there any way to reduce this waiting time? Thanks.

No, the feeders need time to refill the shedulers.

...and the time delay is a server side function, try to soon and the servers will tell you that your request has been rejected as its too soon after the previous one.

And to make matters worse, if you do not wait the requisite 5 minutes and 3 seconds, the timer resets so you have to wait 5 minutes and 3 seconds more. At least that is what I have found.

The interval limit was put in place to prevent the high end machines from pounding the servers with requests.

But when was it set at 5 minutes? Back then it probably took 5 minutes to download a batch of WU's. Surely this waiting time can be reduced to say 3 minutes. No other project that I crunch makes me wait 5 minutes.

I doubt any other project has 180,000 active computers knocking on the door, either.

The purpose of the delay was to allow everyone to take their turn at the trough.
