Message 1705438 - Posted: 27 Jul 2015, 2:24:03 UTC - in response to Message 1704388.

Pulling forward Cosmic_Ocean's post from PMO 98:

we're getting closer to another new milestone of sorts. 2^32 tasks.

David says

The conversion hadn't been done, but we'll do it.
I'm glad we have alert users to warn of stuff like this.

Take a bow, Cosmic.

Yay! I contributed something other than the occasional rant and CPU time. :)

NIIIIIIICE!

I am seriously impressed.

...and a little jealous of how much credit you deserve.

You just saved a bunch of people a whole big past-ripe bunch of panic with a Wandering Spider condo inside.

Thank you.

I suppose I might panic when they pull my lifeless fingers from this keyboard and out the front door to bury my sorry arse.
Until then, a crunching I shall go./

We are making good progress on those tapes.

Think we will make it to Tuesday's outage before we run out of tapes??

One tape is a real tiddler so that should take no time at all to split and will contribute very, very, very few tasks.
So perhaps someone will take pity on the starving splitters and give them some decent tapes to chew on. I hope.

Why did you give away the stash? I've already downloaded 7 of them :-
Now that everyone knows about it, there will be a feeding frenzy...

You already have 7 of them ???
Now I am jealous. I only got a single one so far ...

Tom

P.S. Wow, just got 2 more ...

Hey Grump, I have 177 APs that will automatically error out on Aug 7 if that makes you feel any better. They are off a machine that crashed 3 weeks ago and all the work units were lost. Just waiting for Seti to realize they aren't ever going to be returned.

Looks like I got 58 of the little gems. No idea why except I switched to APs only when they started to send them out. Haven't processed any yet still crunching MBs but they are in the line up now. :-)

My RAC has drop 5K so I need these..lol

I'm sorry, the short time I did Collatz made me feel more stupid than normal.

I'm still using the manager v6.10.48. So I don't have to see the annoying notices tab & get my message right where I like them. In plain view.I've considered downloading the source & building a manager with the current version but restoring the messages tab instead of the hidden event log, but I don't want to go through the effort of setting up the environment to just to compile the manager.

Anticipating the move from 32bit to 64bit task and result values in the database and the possible demise of all our accounts in the process: for everyone wanting to be in the nail-biting group, remember that you're always welcome in the The Seti is Down Cafe thread on the BOINC forums. Or if you don't want to be in the same thread as someone else, you can make your own thread. :-)

Try Opening the Event Log, set it up how you like it, then leave it open, Just switch between the Boinc Manager window and the Event Log window.

You can even do that on Linux now with very recent Boinc's
