Well I hope that this current beer brew is ready now as it will get bottled tomorrow whether it is or not, I'm certainly not liking this new Coopers Lager wort version, as I'll be going away for a few days in a couple of days time.

Anyhow, I did enjoy a few beers down the bottom pub earlier Grant, but I think that it's time for a change now.

Cheers.

I have yet to taste the final results of it Mike (that's still 6mths away at least) so I won't make any drastic decisions just yet, but I will have to start the next brew with 5L less water in the kit and let it degas for 2 days instead of 1 before topping it up and sealing it. I may even have to dig a hydrometer out, but after 2 weeks at the right temp it has to be done (10 days use to be the max if the temp was a bit low).

Cheers.

A change of plans for me today after checking the weather forecast so the bottling can wait until tomorrow (it's waited this long, another won't hurt it) and clothes washing is going to be done instead seeing as the next 2 days will be wet before I head off for a few days to visit my baby sister down south.

Anyhow, there's still 4hrs to go before Beer O'clock so I'd better go and get into it.

Cheers.

Other than bringing in the washing off the line, I have the gutters, tank filters and overflows all cleaned as well as getting the weeds sprayed this morning.

All just in time for a LLB and then that washing should be dry by then.

Then it can rain as much as it likes for the next 2 days and then I'll be down visiting my baby sister for her 50th birthday & party down south with what's left of the rest of the family (sadly it's not all that often we can all get together these days with the distances involved). :-)

Cheers.

Funny that Cooper would just change the wort without giving a choice of new over old for a while.

I asked a man once who had a very successful Pizza shop how he was doing better than all the others in the area. He said the secret is never change the old recipe, make new and offer it also and if it's better the sale of the old will show fast.

The place was packed

Everyone is allowed in the beer thread, as long as they behave *looking at rolling pin* ;D

Drinking beer and behaving at the same time sounds like an interesting concept.

Just having a short break while waiting for my sterilised bottles to cool down.

How does, "drinking beer and having a bloody good time", sound?

We do that as often as we can around this village. :-D

I'm sure that if it doesn't turn out well then Coopers will be getting a lot of complaints and urging to change it back Grant.

Anyhow, I better finish this ciggy/coffee break, then get back in there to rinse and prime them before another short. ;-)

Cheers.

Well I do make sure that they're thoroughly and vigorously rinsed when emptied (I know, pretty obvious), then just before filling they go through boiling water with Chlorinated Trisodium Phosphate in it (known here as Pink Stain Remover or NEO Pink, 1 teaspoon per 2 litres), then vigorously rinse, prime then fill.

Double layered rubber gloves are a must also Mike and I use the end of a big old wire handled bottle brush to submerse and extract the bottles, but the bottles are still pretty hot while vigorously draining them (I can tell you that hot hands do result in some vigorous (my word for the day) swearing at times, but I've never got any blisters out of it).

I think that I might go and make myself a rum'n'lime now.

Cheers.
