I've also done my Saturday chores. However, since I do not like beer of any kind, I'll take a can or two of pear cider instead.

Funny name:)
There is a beer called "Stödbensöl" as well.

And of course "Raggaröl"

G'evening everyone, I hope that all are well.
.

Well Beer O'clock here has finished. :-(

But Rum O'clock has commenced. :-D

Between C.W.#1 and the servers either being down or very, very slow (sometimes totally unresponsive) I havn't had much of a chance to get into the forums lately (though it seems to have been a bit quiet in this thread lately).

I'll go and see how much catching up I can do.

Cheers.

IIRC your brews are 29 litres correct?

The kit contains 1.5 kg worth.

What alcohol content does your beer have ?
I`ve been told that with 1.5kg worth plus 1.2kg malt producing 28 litres beer it would only have about 3% alc.
I never checked it.

You use a beer & wine hydrometer to roughly determine the alcohol content and here's a quick how to on it.

I was aware of that.

Just wanted to know how much your beer has.

I just use dextrose instead of malt in mine (it's malty enough for me already) which gives me around a 6% beer Mike, though I havn't tested mine in a lot of years (but I can't see it being any different these days to way back then).

Cheers.

It's worth a try, but if it gets too malty just add half a kilo of dextrose to your current mix to boost it. If I increase the amount of dextrose used here by 50% I get a 9% beer, but I tend to fall off my milk crate at that level. ;-)

Cheers.

Will test a little but it also depends on the yeast in use.
With universal yeast i have bad experience.
Once i made a 12% brew and it didn`t taste very well.
Now i`m using workhorse which seems to be more alc tollerant.
