Summer budget 2015

Chancellor George Osborne has announced that funding will be made available for a memorial to the victims of the Tunisia massacre that left 30 Britons dead at the end of June. Speaking in the House of Commons as he outlined government spending plans in his summer budget, the chancellor also said a memorial would be commissioned to commemorate those who lost their lives as victims of overseas terrorism.

"In the week of the poignant anniversary of the 7/7 attacks we should recognise too that our victims of overseas terrorism have no permanent memorial. We will now find one, as well as a specific memorial to those murdered in Tunisia," Osborne said.

Wow, our politicians really do take the p***.

Only days after the events, they're planning a memorial yet did nothing about This?

"An appeal was made for £5.6 million to build the memorial, and funding came from donations made by the public, as well as substantial amounts from Lord Ashcroft and businessmen John Caudwell and Richard Desmond. Robin Gibb, the singer, became a key figure behind the appeal, working alongside Jim Dooley to raise funds and have the memorial built."

55,573 dead & took 67 years to commemorate, yet...

...what about the thousands of dead who suffered & toiled on the home front to keep this country fighting - where's their memorial?

As expected, but you failed to answer the question.

Secret London

We have the worst chancellor of the exchequer stating funds will be available for a memorial to 30 dead tourists only days after their deaths...

...so where are the memorials to the civilian dead that kept this country fighting?
