The QCN forum is very quietly... Is someone participate at QCN and know how/when to install which/the software/driver and USB sensor? The thread »there«. Thanks. |

On 17 May 2015, Carl Christensen wrote: To make a long story short -- my project (Quake-Catcher Network) funding is finished up end of June, as our final person at Stanford is leaving, and Stanford is not giving us our hardware, and the profs new home (CalTech) isn't able to support QCN. I guess I could just "pull the plug" end of June, but it would be nice to keep the project running somewhere. |

In Germany, I could buy the... 1042_0 - PhidgetSpatial 3/3/3 Basic for €86 the 1041_0 - PhidgetSpatial 0/0/3 Basic for €46 ...additional a small case for it for €6. But to now I have no idea what is to do before or/and after I connect the sensor to the PCs' USB port. The infos on the QCN website are very old. I found no Phidget driver for download. The other sensors' drivers are on the QCN website. Maybe directly from the Phidget website? And then just let run the QCN-app in BOINC? EDIT: BTW, AFAIK QCN is a nci (non CPU intensive) project. |

Carl Christensen would be the person to ask, as he's the one who provided the Phidget device compatibility list. I suspect, but couldn't guarantee, that Windows will automatically find and install the appropriate drivers when the card is connected. The user guides for the 1041_0 and 1042_0 only specify Win2000/XP/Vista/7, so you may (or may not) have problems running in 8.1. Carl is probably busy with preparations for the move from Stanford to CalTech next Monday, so don't expect a quick answer from him. |
