Put down that bone you are gnawing and have a look outside. The sun is shining and it's a new day.
Good grief.
I now see clearly why we are having problems as a nation finding political compromises on local, state and national levels.
Little wonder it's so difficult to get a dialogue going about actual issues.
The baiting and twisting prevents actual communication.
Enough already.

Compromise on principle is a very BAD thing. Gridlock (nothing at all getting done) is preferable to compromising on principles.

Case in point:

Stop lights should be green on the bottom and go lights should be red on top. Everyone knows this is correct. Town Texas has done this for hundreds of years and it is the way it will be, it isn't open to discussion.

Enjoy your anarchy.

Case in point:

The big-government tax-and-spenders vs. the minarchists...

ANY compromise with the big-government people is a LOSS for the minarchists. A total Government shutdown is better. Better anarchy than authoritarian tyranny.

Now there was silly old me thinking that the US Constitution, so beloved of the Republicans, was built on compromise.

Just a Political Statement.

Nothing more.

Surely in your world. In the civilised world, professors and other authorities do have official responsibility.
To equate professors and authority reminds me of the definition of 'Expert'. "X is an unknown quantity and spurt is a drip under pressure....."

The establishment 'Professors' abdicate their 'official responsibility' when they choose to indoctrinate dogma instead of teaching free thought.

You sound like someone who would have supported the Indiana Pi Bill.

Do the staff that work at the Trump Hotel in Istanbul or his Golf course in Dubai know that Trump, through his campaign manager says he has a plan to defeat Islam** and by association them.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2016/oct/19/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-third-presidential-debate-live at 18:36.

** just plain Islam, no additional explanation like State or ISIL or ISIS.

Just responding to Wasat, or whatever his name is today, same assertion.

Therefore you and 'Socialist' agree with my sarcasm.

No.
We, as in several setizens, do not think you are the person to make statements for the civilised.

He most certainly is not, as he has proven to us "civilised" persons so many times over the years.

Cheers.

I am honored.

Keep it up. You're sinking faster and faster.

You asked a question, I replied saying why I, and others, the reason why your post was incorrect.

Why did Chris Wallace say it was beginning at 3 o'clock sharp? It's 6 o'clock in Las Vegas.

What is your take on last night's Debate?

My wife and I:

#1 - Chris Wallace was the only Professional Moderator of this Election Season.

#2 - Just a confirmation, that our choice is between 'The Ignorant' and 'The Incompetent'.

Guess which is which :-)

But he brought up the "Grab By the ..." issue.
How unprofessional of him.
He must be a member of the Secular Right.
They must be opposed, as their cousins, the Religious Left, must also be.
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

I'm thinking that even Donald has difficulty believing that a victory is possible.

I'm thinking that even Donald has difficulty believing that a victory is possible.

He's may be laughing all the way to victory.

Reminds me of Reagan/Carter 1980.

Carter had a 3-6 point advantage, two weeks before the election.

Democrats, Liberals, and the Media are just smugly talking among themselves. They have no clue what is outside of them. They are just living in a La La Land.

In 1980, there was only one presidential debate and that didn't happen until the 28th October. Like Hillary this year, Reagan got a large upsurge in support which was still ongoing a week later when the election happen on Nov 4th.

Totally different scenario.

You also need to watch State elections not nation wide. Not the solidly Blue and Red ones, but the ones in between. Trump must win a most of the 'big' states in that lot to get enough electoral votes to win. He is not ahead in many of them and quite far behind in FL, NC, PA, MI, WI, CO and MN. Not doing very well in OH, IA, NV and AZ either.
