Message 1791036 - Posted: 27 May 2016, 21:25:22 UTC - in response to Message 1791031.

All of our politicians have for many years, ignored the wishes of the general populace that they are elected to represent. And once elected, they all go their merry, money grubbing, self serving way with their middle fingers held high to those that elected them.

Trump's anti-establishment right now, but I just have a funny feeling if he gets in there, he's going to get nice and cozy.

Who knows. Maybe foreign relations will improve.
Many believe that Trump and Putin would get along well on a personal level and that alone could help ease tensions between the U.S. and Russia, which have been building up over the past years.
Fyodor Lukyanov, the head of the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, said he believes Vladimir Putin would like Trump's style.
"He likes people who are frank, open and who disregard political correctness. And that is exactly the case with Mr. Trump," Lukyanov told CNN.

Die-Hard Bernie Sanders Backers See F.B.I. as Answer to Their Prayers

Like many of Mr. Sanders’s supporters, Ms. Crowell, 37, said she hoped that Mrs. Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state would eventually yield an indictment, and she described it as the kind of transgression that would disqualify another politician seeking high office

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/28/us/politics/bernie-sanders-hillary-clinton-fbi.html

Add Anti Washington Establishment Bernie Supporters, to Anti Washington Establishment Trump Supporters, and you get...

A large majority of The People having the Same Enemy, and demanding a change.

Are you suggesting that it'll be Drumpf-Sanders vs Hillary-?, seems that's Sanders' only way to being on a ticket at the moment - seems the people who voted in democratic party primaries and caucuses do not want him as their candidate, tno matter how you try to count the votes.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

Bobby,

The headline of the article you linked:

The System Isn’t ‘Rigged’ Against Sanders

It most certainly *IS* rigged against Sanders, and here is how:

I am sure that you are familiar with the 'bandwagon effect'.

People like voting for 'the winner'.

Approximately 20% of the delegates to the Democrat party national convention are so-called 'super-delegates'. These 'super-delegates' are not bound to vote for any particular candidate, but are free to decide who they will support.

These 'super-delegates' have this status because of their position within the Democrat party. Democrat Party leaders (national and state), Democrat members of Congress. Democrat State Governors, and Democrat Mayors of big cities. You know... The Establishment.

When a rather large number of these 'super-delegates', VERY early in the primary/caucus season, came out and publicly declared their support for Clinton giving her an apparent large lead in the delegate totals, the 'bandwagon effect' kicked in and inflated the number of votes Clinton got for the rest of the primary/caucus season.

Yes, the system IS rigged. Against Sanders. And also against ANY non-establishment candidate running for President as a Democrat.

The Democrat party longs for the days when candidates were chosen in 'smoke-filled back rooms'. I find it extremely funny that, with a name like the 'Democrat' party, they find it necessary to have this system just so that they can thwart the will of the people.

The Democrat party implemented this system for the 1984 election cycle. Guess who was running for President back in 1984... Rev. Jesse Jackson (his first campaign, he came in 3rd place with 465.5 delegate votes. He might have done a lot better, maybe, if he hadn't used a certain racial slur directed at NYC. He also ran again in 1988). Knowing the history of the Democrat party, it makes one wonder.

And I don't think that Trump would be nuts enough to choose Sanders as his VP running-mate. But... that might be enough to totally guarantee him a win.

While the USA might, possibly, benefit from some sort of national-unity ticket, it should NOT be one involving a Populist wanna-be fascist and a Populist wanna-be Commie. Dangerville!.

Takes one. To know one.

Speaking the same language is a good starter.
Putin doesn't like to speak English.
However he is very good in German.
And even Swedish:)

Now Trump...
I dont think he can speak Spanish despite the fact that the US is bilangually.

Uhh... Janneseti,

The USA is NOT 'bilingual'.

We do NOT have an 'official language', much less two of them.

Our official Government documents/forms are printed in a variety of languages, usually matching the languages spoken by the population in an area.

For instance, Harris County Texas prints the following 2 forms, in addition to ones in other languages.

https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/forms/vr17chinese.pdf

https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/forms/vr17vietnamese.pdf

I have seen some instructional sheets printed by the State of Texas with well over 10 different languages on them.

Here is a Federal one online with 17 languages on it.

https://www.ssa.gov/multilanguage/

Now then, granted the most common 2 languages in the USA as a whole are English and Spanish, they are far from the only 2.

I don't think that the best linguist in the world could be fluent in ALL of the languages spoken in the USA... Much less Trump...

Trump would almost certainly employ the services of an interpreter.

There are, reportedly, 311 different languages spoken in the USA, of which 162 of those languages are indigenous, and 149 are immigrant.

What?
Here we have five recognized minority languages.
Even a official language used by the Sami people that have their own parliament.
"Oddasat" (News) http://www.svtplay.se/video/8680266/oddasat/oddasat-svt-12?info=visa&start=auto
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Sweden

Since there are now lots of immigrants here (16% of the people here are not born in Sweden) we have even more languages spoken and used in the community.
There are still workplaces here where if you cannot speak Finnish you are lost.
Beside Swedish and Finnish the most common languages are Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Spanish, Greek, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.

Anybody heard Trump speaking German, his 'home country'?
(Or Swedish as he have claimed to be from?) :)

Biji:)
Oh. That was Kurdish.

In 2008 Clinton had an early and commanding lead in super-delegates, then Obama took the lead amongst voters and the super-delegates switched from Clinton to Obama. Obama took the lead in pledged delegates in March 2008, and in May he also took the lead in super-delegates. Why didn't the same "bandwagon effect" win the nomination for Clinton in 2008?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

The USA almost DID have an official language... German.

Expanding upon my previous Post -

Correct.

Both English and German were proposed to be the TWO Official Languages.

From reading your post, I am not surprised you support Trump.

:)

I believe that Hitler took the luster from Germany.

It was indeed, and still is, a wonderful country.

I love my German ancestry, even with it's torn bit there.
The Sound of Music is a still a wonderful bit, and describes the situation perfectly.

All I can say is WOW!

Whaterever happened to:

"The Land of the Free"

"Freedom of Speech"

"All men are created equal"

As for everyone having to speak English...

...hmmn...

Let's have an example of said English, American style...

...since when has "Kindergarten" been an English word?

"The term was coined by the German Friedrich Fröbel whose approach greatly influenced early years education around the world. Today, the term is used in many countries to describe a variety of educational institutions and learning spaces for children ranging from two to seven years of age, based on a variety of teaching methods."

Funny thing language :-)

Hmmm.
In 1776, abolitionist Thomas Day responding to the hypocrisy in the Declaration wrote, though the first draft stated " All free men are created equal".
Are not women free and created equal?

I wonder if the Romney effect will happen to the GOP this time ....

As most of you know Romney was on his way to a win when a few christian loudmouths running for congress associated him with absolutist christian positions and wrapped the GOP flag in them. These absolutist christian loud mouths had to or could espouse these distasteful issues because of their local precincts. This painted Romney with these values, values a majority of Americans do not share. Romney lost because he couldn't lift a middle finger to them or he would lose the GOP $$$$ which he and the candidate this time will need.

It will be interesting to see how the GOP's candidate reacts to having a hate plank banning contraception and a hate plank banning abortion and a hate plank saying rape is the woman's fault and being forced to espouse these planks at every campaign stop.

It isn't like he thinks that California doesn't have a drought? Oh wait, he does think it is raining cats and dogs in California!

Re: Trump and the California Drought.

Southern California is, in many places, a Semi-Arid Climate.

Spoken like a true eastern coastal dweller who does not understand just how dry ALL of California is. East Porterville is not "Southern California. It is Central California. The valley that grows the food you east coast denizens eat. In East Porterville water doesn't come out of the tap anymore.

Let me list a few more exceptionally dry California cities: Santa Cruz, Merced, Gilroy, Salinas. Now tell me East Coaster, after you look at a map: Is that Southern California?! Do you even know where Drumpf was when he was speaking? Of course not, you are an east is all there is geographically challenged [redacted].

I just drove I5 and SR99 between LA and Modesto. Most of it looks like Death Valley. Bridges over 200 foot wide rivers, except the water is missing. Not mud even, just hot dry sand, too dry even for tumble weeds. In past years they were full of water and fish.

Merced being dry is a interesting example. You may have heard of the Merced River. It flows out of Yosemite. Well it used to flow. It is so bad the land is sinking, 2 inches a month.

It isn't just California either. The Colorado river is the Colorado stream now. Lake Meade has just reached an historic low water mark.

I think it is time for a water in food export tax. You east coast types will have to send a truck of water for a head of lettuce from the Imperial Valley. Want some nuts? Where are the water trucks? Want your beef? Where is the river? Since we ship you the water, we are going to make you return it, like a bottle deposit! Fair is fair!

Friedrich Trump, grandfather of businessman Donald Trump, was born in the town of Kallstadt in the Palatinate, to Christian Johannes Trump[3] and Katherina Kober.[4]:480 Kallstadt, a relatively impoverished region, was known for its viniculture since the Roman Empire. Trump’s ancestor, Hans Drumpf, first settled in Kallstadt in 1608, and his family owned a vineyard.[4]:25–26 In 1871, the Palatinate became part of the new German Empire. Trump's son Fred later denied his German heritage, instead claiming his father had been a Swede from Karlstad.[5]

The original German family surname was "Trumpf". The name change is a result of the first world war, after the declaration of war form Germany to the US in 1917, a lot of families with German origins changed their surname to the English version. "Trump" is nothing other than the English translation of the German word "Trumpf" The immigration records list his name as Friedr. Trumpf, but sources including the genealogy organization FamilySearch, a genealogist at About.com, and the 2013 book America's Obsessives concluded that both his father and his aunt's surname were Trump;[15][16][17] while the 2001 book The Trumps: Three Generations of Builders and a Presidential Candidate wrote that the family name was changed from Drumpf to Trump during the Thirty Years' War of the 1600s.

Ah Yes. The GOLDEN STATE. aka Kalifornia or California. Changed to Kalifornia when GOLDEN STATE Voters made An Austrian Born Man their Leader.

Once, The GOLDEN STATE was Seen As The Be All and End All of Creativeness. EVERYTHING started First and Best in Kali, and Moved East. Easterners Only Wanted One Thang, To Go West and Be Part of This AMAZEMENT.

Now. Da DRY DRY DRY GOLDEN STATE needs A Man Named DJTrump to Save Them.

Kalifornia with Its Massive Brainiac Population has CAUSED their State to Go DRY DRY DRY. Shame Shame Shame on Them.

Worry No More Kali People. DJTrump will Soon Be Your Saviour.

BIG BIG BIGBIG DON. Saving Kali from Itself. Sweetness.
