You forgot to mention when the subversion by the Dixiecrats happened as they decided to take over. As the end neared only crats were in charge of the GOP. |

Additionally... A 45 year old Speaker of The House. Second most powerful Federal Government position regarding The Budget, and 3rd inline for the Presidency. Clyde, 2nd??? Who is 1st then? In fact, The Speaker of The House is the single most powerful elected official in the entire Federal Government. |

Just pointing out in a sarcastic way (even though sarcasm is difficult to convey in written communication because of the lack of intonation) that you (and most other liberals) think congress has nothing to do with what the president does and can't even imagine the idea that presidents are sometimes check mated by congress into doing things they don't want to do--such as selecting which SCOTUS nominees make it through the senate and where our national budgets are (supposed to be) created. One might think liberals would know something about the limits of Presidential powers after, for instance, Obama's failed efforts to close the Guantánamo detention camp. Thank you for telling me what I think, glad to see your powers of telepathy are as reliable as ever. Is sarcasm really that difficult in written communication? I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

Mr. Trump does more to make America unsafe than al Queida and ISIL combined. Plays into hands of terrorists by suggesting America has declared war on Islam. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/07/politics/donald-trump-muslim-ban-immigration/ Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump called Monday to block all Muslims from entering the United States. |

Mr. Trump does more to make America unsafe than al Queida and ISIL combined. Plays into hands of terrorists by suggesting America has declared war on Islam. Sigh:( Trump is a stupid man. Ibrahim Hooper, director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, reacted indignantly. - Now we are into fascism area. This should worry not only American Muslims, but all Americans, that the leading Republican presidential candidate in practice do a fascist statement like this. Wonder what the reaction would be if if he said block all Jews or any other religion from entering the United States... Perhaps our FM Margot should say that we now block US Christians to enter our country! |

I think we should all stop and remember the title of this thread. I believe the idea is being president, not any thing else! |

If it does happen, and as usual, the new President visits "friendly countries" will there be a court case requesting he be banned from the UK as a religious troublemaker, considering that now that Britain is no longer just a christian country. |

Mr. Trump does more to make America unsafe than al Queida and ISIL combined. Plays into hands of terrorists by suggesting America has declared war on Islam. We already were in that area. It's just becoming a lot worse and a lot more obvious. A certain series of books (fiction) did well illustrating the dangers of totalitarianism on either side. Unfortunately, the movies didn't do the illustration as well. Meantime, we still have the intolerant calling independents liberals. That will never ever ever get those independents to come to their side and vote like them. |

Meantime, we still have the intolerant calling ndependents liberals. That will never ever ever get those independents to come to their side and vote like them. It would seem to be that those types don't care about how people vote or the sharing of ideas and thoughtful discussion, but rather enjoy the game of chicanery and false stratagem so as to appear to be "winning" in a politically false narrative. |

After Trump's Muslim hostile statements, the Huffington Post has decided to no longer cover his campaign on the entertainment pages. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/a-note-on-trump_b_8744476.html |
