Hmm. Tricky decision.

Mr Grenade, did you perhaps mean Blanche?
Stella DuBois, I presume?

Never mind, we have always relied on the kindness of copy editors. Talking of which, I really liked Angela's verse, but I think it would have scanned better as:
Roses are red
Sometimes they're pink
I'm thirsty - won't somebody
Buy me a drink?

I noticed this picture on a Wikipedia user's page and I think Belle sums it up quite nicely: "I like it because at first glance she looks like a perfect English Rose, but look a little closer and you'll see she's all unlaced and flushed, the French floozy." Lenoir is new to me. Here are a few more of his paintings.

In third place is Eric, who cannot tell a lie, with:
All I notice is the wood.

Second place goes to Wiggo, with a nice reminder of one of my favourite songs:
"Roses may look pretty, but they do have thorns."

The winner is Angela: I wasn't expecting a nod to Star Trek in the captions!

PM on its way.

Thank you for the win!

Michael's interesting picture choice for the Caption Contest, and the many responses it generated, has set me thinking in new directions.

My friends, please caption this:

All of you were too kind to post the most obvious caption: Angela poses in her new swimwear

Ah well, time to declare a winner!!!

Third place goes to Lynn with: "I want an apology from The Family Feud, for sitting grey hair remarks.!"

Second place goes to Steven Meyer with: "And to think, I was a youngun when Boinc started downloading a task from SETI@Home."

First place goes right back to Michael Roberts with: "Sometimes I sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits"

P.M. going out to our winner now.
