Yes the dreaded....(again, for me)- HELP Please!
=
Posted this on Questions and Answers 2 Hrs ago - no help yet - Had to bring it *here--
==

I was *working on my configs re: the multiple AP swarm I was blessed with;

Editing app_config.xml and accidentally Reversed the CPU and GPU allocations.

8 APs and 94 CUDAs suddenly went Missing from my Tasks Page.

Not in Errors or Invalids - just *Poof.

Corrected the sleepy-eyed fat finger in app_config; dbl checked a dozen times;
Saved - Advanced-read config files, statefile_debug and State_debug Diag flags, SETI update to run those, R/R Boinc....no luck retrieving them yet.

Will this take a Re-run of Lunatics Installer? Or shall I Un and Re-install Boinc altogether? Or am I forced to Reset (perish the thought, if what I hear is correct - would be some pretty devastating losses)

Please advise, best course to take in retrieving these Tasks and get em back in my Scope.
[Edit-will 411 here: just installed a CPU upgrade (i7-3770K 3.5GHz) and rolled back NVidia driver twice - now at 347.52 for the 960 and hopefully seamless OpenCL_nvidia AP processing - yes commandline 960 in place.
Thanks

Re run of the Lunatics installer will do it.
It over writes the appinfo.xml.

But your lost tasks might be gone anyways.
Resent lost tasks is disabled IIRC.

Hey Mike thanks.
My intuition too that It may *work - that is, it may take a Lunatics redo to correct it vs my own correcting - may be a slip/mistake in app_info I haven't found - darn thing is so verbose - I sneezed and may have clicked *in there accidentally - it was open underneath app_config. Grrr.

Anyway hey, while you're here - know of a good strong commandline for my 970 4 gig with 13 CUs?

Appreciate you stopping by!

Thanks!

{Edit > PS the 8 OpenCL_nvidia APs still show under *their tab in Tasks as In Progress - No Errors, No Invalids there. So, may not be *Lost. Weird tho that *none of my GPU stuff (94 CUDAs) nor the APs show
Noted the State_debug run said ap tasks listed as "inactive" For what that's worth

Sorry to hear about the fat finger mistake on app_info. Been there .... done that. I had at least the saving grace of resends being on at the time. If you were referring to the command line tweaks for AP on the 970, this is what I use to good effect on my 970's.

-use_sleep -unroll 18 -oclFFT_plan 256 16 256 -ffa_block 16384 -ffa_block_fetch 8192 -tune 1 64 4 1 -tune 2 64 4 1 -hp

I was lucky to snag 6 AP's this morning in the feeding frenzy. Not much compared to the others who solely work AP's. But appreciated after the long dearth of no AP at all.

Cheers, Keith

Ah, thanks Keith!

Ya, just redid Lunatics Installer from Mikes World.

Musta missed something no GPU tasks have showed up yet.
They're still showing as in Progress under the Tasks Page but *not on my desktop/BOINC Mgr.

I did exit Boinc, ran Lunatics, then resarted and ran statefile_debug and State_debug Diags, then unchecked them.
mebe I need another reboot?

The Syntax Error was absent, but no Tasks. My mbcuda.cfg is intact.
Dunno if I hafta Run as admin the Jason CUDA50 app from inside SETI folder or what
Or read config files?

Mebe I oughta Un and Re-install Boinc itself?

Real close but no cigar yet

Whattya say Guys?

Update 2: Well a reboot, then a NEW OpenCL_nvidia AP arrived just now (few minutes ago)
More Progress!

Makes me Wonder now, if I could/should re-install somehow, the "old" apps from the Old apps Folder or something - to regain access to those 8 APs
If that's the missing piece here

Hard to vet the things ie *exactly which app it was - thought it was v7 7.05

Whatever it takes...whatever is holding them back
