I have had Lunatics 44 installed since it came out and I started getting the message concerning V7 the other day.

Yikes, did I mis-remember? Thought 0.44 introduced the v8 stuff and nuked v7. Or is that 0.45 to be? And if so, how has anyone been running any MBs, since v7 work dried up months ago? Surely everyone didn't manually patch the v8 stuff in...

Correct, it was with the Lunatics 0.45 Beta that legacy MB V7 was removed from the application install.

Not that it really belongs in an Astrolpulse thread, but

Unknown app name setiathome_v7 in app_info.xml

is appearing as a (harmless) message because the old apps have finally been removed from the stock applications list. You can safely ignore it.

Looks like we're getting another run of 100% blanked WUs again...

Message 1818345 - Posted: 20 Sep 2016, 2:22:11 UTC

Just a heads-up. I discovered that my Win10 boxes were set (default) to allow MS to distribute and install mfr divers. One box just installed NVidia driver 369.09, as opposed to the 368.81 I was running. One problem; no OpenCL support! So if your AP ability goes away, and all AP tasks show aborted, might check that.
Full details in the Win 10 Yay or Nay thread. Later, Jim ...

Whether they are being run with 368.81 driver, 372.70 (latest driver) or CPU only one so far was not blank. Can anyone using Radeon (AMD) chime in if they are having the same issue.

Thanks

Mike

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting a driver issue regarding the blanks. Just noting the driver upgrade issue in case anyone got bit.

So just to restate the test, you must catch an AP task that is in queue and has not yet been run, and attempt to zip it. If it's a good AP, it will barely compress, if it's a "stuck bit" unit, it will compress to about 50%. Is that about correct?

Yup, exactly so. The raw file should be about 8MB: the 'stuck bit' ones zip to just over 4MB.

I managed to download Task 5168328866, ap_18no15aa_B3_P1_00346_20160920_22804.wu_1, which is part of workunit 2270430643. It zipped down to 4,808 KB from 8,196 KB. But this workunit is from the infamous "B3_P1" data channel, which generates almost exclusively "bad" data - so no real help there, I suspect.

I snagged another one: Task 5168561759, ap_20no15aa_B0_P1_00090_20160920_32079.wu_1, which is part of workunit 2270541308. It zipped down to 7,975 KB, so it looks okay. Both of these workunits were recorded in November 2015, and I recall that it's the more recent data recorded in 2016 that is suspected to be "dud". I'll keep trying...

Thanks for trying. Yes, both of those show the expected 'old' behaviour. If people could keep an eye open, especially if the next batch contains tapes from later in 2016, please?

Edit - I got ap_20dc15aa_B1_P1_00065_20160920_09690.wu, also incompressible (7,953KB in .zip format)

Out of 17 here only ap_01dc15aa_B3_P1_00100_20160919_21736 appears to be a stuck bit compressed down to 4.38

Preliminary results show 100% blanking, not a good sign.
