Message 1775685 - Posted: 2 Apr 2016, 1:27:43 UTC - in response to Message 1775640.

A few are being split and once again I'm not getting any.

The splitters are just running through them, producing nothing. Those files has been crunched before, so there was no need to so split them, and send out any WU's again.

Edit: By the looks of things the last 6 months or so, AP is put on the back burner, for the foreseeable future. We might as well give up on any hope that we will see a reliable feed of AP's, until they have re crunched MB from previous years, with MB v8. That could take a very long time, depending upon how far back they decide to go.

So, goodbye AP.

Or at the very very least.. until we start getting a reasonably steady supply of Green Bank tapes. I assume we're going to be running through those with MB and AP, given that the DB and the apps had to be updated to handle data from places other than Arecibo.

So I think once we start getting GBT data coming in (maybe it's been coming in, but being stock-piled for the time being), APs will probably flow pretty steadily.

And I think the high demand for those will go away once the random number generator gets tamed and there stops being such a disparity between MB and AP in regards to credits/hour.

Was AP v7 build with GBT data considerations, or would we need AP v8 for that as well?

More AP splitters are now working, but creation rate is still 0/sec, as per SSP.

HAL,

Where do you get numbers like that from?

I've read and heard before that there's some parsing of stdout.txt that you can do to get fancy reports like that.

as for current splitting and distribution.. I'm making slow progress at getting some. I'm up to 8 so far.. across ~25 requests. It is slow-going, but still progress.

Yeah I've made a few different .bats to parse for various things over the years. I think one of my first ones was parsing for scheduler timeouts when we were having connection issues.

The one I made to get the counts for assigned tasks is below. You can save it in notepad and place it in the same folder with your stdoutdae.txt or you can edit readfile to include the path to your stdoutdae.

_scheduler_work_assigned.bat
@ECHO OFF & pushd %~dp0 & cls
set readfile=stdoutdae.txt
set project=SETI@home
set tskcnt=0
:gettskcnt
findstr /C:"[%project%] Scheduler request completed" %readfile% >sched_comcnt-%computername%.txt
findstr /C:"[%project%] Scheduler request completed: got %tskcnt% new tasks" %readfile% >sched_com%tskcnt%-%computername%.txt
set /a tskcnt=%tskcnt%+1
if %tskcnt% LEQ 9 goto gettskcnt
set tskcnt2=0
:gettskcnt2
for /f %%a in ('Find /V /C "" ^< sched_comcnt-%computername%.txt') do set total=%%a
for /f %%a in ('Find /V /C "" ^< sched_com%tskcnt2%-%computername%.txt') do set cnt%tskcnt2%=%%a
set /a tskcnt2=%tskcnt2%+1
if %tskcnt2% LEQ 9 goto gettskcnt2
del sched_com*-%computername%.txt
set /a taskcnttotal=%cnt1%+%cnt2%+%cnt3%+%cnt4%+%cnt5%+%cnt6%+%cnt7%+%cnt8%+%cnt9%
set /a totaltskcnt=%cnt1%+(%cnt2%*2)+(%cnt3%*3)+(%cnt4%*4)+(%cnt5%*5)+(%cnt6%*6)+(%cnt7%*7)+(%cnt8%*8)+(%cnt9%*9)
set /a nullrequest=%total%-%cnt0%-taskcnttotal

The value for project can be changed for other projects. Just use the same output you see in the Event log/messages tab for the project.
Also readfile=stdoutdae.txt can be changed to readfile=stdoutdae.old if you want to check your previous stuff.

I should also add that this is only looking for values up to 9 when tasks are assigned. As my intention was to use this on AP only systems where 9 or fewer tasks are assigned per request.

It looks like the wimpy run will end soon and ATM I've only been able to snag 21, hopefully a few more will come down the pike.

Slowly but surely ...

118 across 4 machines, not counting what's already crunched, and still getting ones and twos ...

Not bragging, not complaining ... :)
