Chris - thanks for your progress report and subsequent comment.
Sadly it confirms what I thought, I need to spend loadza money to keep cool :-(

And I've just looked at the local weather forecast - storms developing around sunrise tomorrow - Will it be the Crack of Dawn?

And as long as Son of Krakatoa stays quiet...

Yeah, I'm still up, the cooler is helping, it feels wonderful, even on low cool.

68°F/20°C, fair.

Cool and rainy, for most of the past week, in Conway, N.H. region.

Back in Lexington, sunny --> increasing clouds, with showers after
10:00 PM, Independence Day.

Being covered for all sorts of weather(almost, since I need to replace 2 15A breakers for the gas heater to work again, drat, another expense on the list of things to repair/replace), here's what July 4th 2015 looks like here, besides 104F HOT!!

41C or 36C, those temps are still too hot, here the humidity is about 5-6% at those temps, makes you sweat real fast, even if you are not doing anything besides sitting down in the shade and even then you have to most likely bring your own shade, since usually there isn't any shade to be found.

Currently the outside temp is 77F/25C and 33% humidity.

Original forecast for this past week was 102-105 through tomorrow (6 July), but the monsoon that blew in on Wednesday knocked it down to 98-101.

Current forecast 95-101 through the 15th.

Several months ago, I talked about getting a home weather station. I sort of put that project on the back burner, but now I'm just about ready to do it. I bought some galvanized 1" and 3/4" metal pole sections, and have decided where to dig a hole for the post in the backyard. Pretty much also decided on buying an Acurite station that will supposedly allow me to see data online all the time.

Hmmmm...
Accuweather just posted warnings for the smoke from the Canadian fires coming in tonight on the cool front coming across the state right now.

Glad I caught that, or I might be worried smelling smoke in the middle of the night!

After weeks of frosts here we've now had 2 days in a row without them, but an antarctic blast is due this weekend with snow expected on Sunday and Monday after rain and sleet on Saturday.

Cheers.
