Digging through my box of pats I only have 1GB PC2-6400 sticks. Looks like I didn't go to 2GB parts until DDR3

i have two labeled kvr667d2/2gr, two labelled kvr667d2n5/2g and four labelled kvr667d2n5k2/4g kit of 2

i wouldn't take your smaller chips in exchange, if only because i've discarded those sizes in the past

i'm notorious for being too lazy to ship, but i would be willing to drive these to someone who would be willing to do that

I have some spare memory sticks.

7 x 1Gb PC2 5300
2 x 512Mb PC2 4200
5 x 1Gb PC2 3200

What I am looking for is some 2Gb PC2 6400 or 5300 sticks in exchange. Willing to post to Europe or the USA. Any offers?

How about a kit of two PC2 6400 OCZ FLEX XLC 5-4-4 something... I haven't got my glasses here but it used to be a fast RAM kit of 2 modules.

You can PM me and I'll give You an IBAN number. You may test the modules for free for a month and then decide what You want to pay (if not at all). If they are not working (or if they are not fast enough please send them to an other SETI user). I have had them lying in the top drawer now for about two or three years.

Earlier this year I sent (for free) to a SETI user 2 GPU cards (a GTX660 and a 560Ti). I stated I don't need money. It cost me about 8€ ($11).

EDIT: this is a kit of 2GB dual ch. So they may be 1GB each. This would be a perfect kit for a multi GPU non CPU linux machine.

I found a picture, this is it:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227269

The FLEX and the XLC (water cooled chips) must be other mem chips lying around..

I only listed the label markings so you could confirm if the memory was appropriate for your application. I do not know the nationality or the density of my memory. I would assume that Kingston is an american company.

I'm serious about not wanting to ship, once upon a time I drove north 175 miles to Fort Bragg to pick up a case of Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout from North Coast Brewing. Then I drove that case 572 miles south to Orange County because I was unwilling to ship the case across state lines to Pennsylvania.

Chris, maybe you can contact Jim, to see if he could use your old bits.

I could hook up with Woohoo again, but no SF trip is planned until July 2016.

I could drive within the state but across the Atlantic is beyond my range.

Stockton or wherever is well within my range. Who wants to come to SF anyway, no parking and too much congestion.

Of course I know it's Kingston Value RAM, but a simple search would show that it's most likely to be low density

I will see if I can get to Uli's secret compound this weekend. I don't want any money, unless you want to pay off my car/mortgage, otherwise this is trivial and you should buy yourself beer

I did sample the dark stuff, but I'm not normally a beer person. Someone let me know when they come out with a beer that tastes like Pepsi. I'm not that picky, I would be also be fine if it tasted like Diet Pepsi.

Hi Petri,

I was away for a long weekend but the memory was there when I arrived home yesterday. I will fit it later today.

OCZ is a well known upmarket memory make, but am intrigued at the heat spreaders with "Nvidia SLI ready" on them". Not seen that before.

Thank you very much :-)

You're welcome.

The SLI-ready must be some marketing trick to get more money from enthusiasts.

Could be I guess. Anyway the memory is in and working, and I have a full 8Gb! never had a machine with so much before ..... :-) Wow 21C stuff .....

Reminds me of Bill Gates all those years ago "640 kB ought to be enough for anybody". And of course Ken Olsen, the founder and CEO of Digital Equipment Corporation, who said, "There is no reason for any individual to have a computer in his home."

Double that Chris and you'll have what I've been running for a few years now.

Cheers.

I was running 12GB for a while now, but recently upgraded to 24GB. Of course Win7 Home will only address 16GB.

My machines are so old they only take 4 x 2Gb max anyway and just one GPU :-(

That old Asus you mentioned should be able to handle 2.
All my old Asus boards of that vintage have 2 PCIE slots.
Of course, your PSU would have to be able to handle the load.

My current motherboard will address up to 16GB, which is what I have now, My next motherboard can handle 32GB, of course I have to buy two 1866MHz 8GB Dimms, since My current 1333 ram won't work in an X79 motherboard(I've tried), but will work in a P55 or in an X58 motherboard, go figure. An Asus RIVE that I own, will handle 64GB, to think I started out with a computer that only had 16K in it stock, modded the computer had 48K, the OSROM was 10K, the 6502B cpu could see only 64K total, so I've come a long ways since 1980.

is there someone who would exchange for 4x 2GB DDR2-6400?
