I recently left SETI for a while (issues I assume they will’ address when they can). I took out all the SETI and BOINC files I could find —with EasyFind, which also shows you the files Apple would rather you not see. Thereafter, on the same computer that had happily ben running SETI through BOINC for over a year, any attempt to bring on an alternave screen saver, brought instead the strobing message;
'you cannot use the boincsaver screen saver with this version of Mac OSX, etc’ “

I deleted everything I could find that related to BOINC, I even re-installed the software, then de-installed it —in the hope that BOINC's “uninstall” option would pick up stuff I missed. No such luck. I can re-choose the Mac’s screen-saver (which, filled with picture from the APOD page, is a *treat*! as often as I like. Sooner, rather than later, invoking the screen saver means a return to BOINCsaver’s STrobing (and untrue) warning instead.

I have looked in the the /Library/Screen Savers and ~/Library/Screen Savers folders. Not a sausage!

I also found on this forum an earlier query about this problem, which never got much of an answer. Can we do better now?

Thanks for your kind attentions.
