Does anybody see/hear the jingle jangle of ice cream trucks in your neighborhood, anymore? I still do. I've actually never bought anything from one. Something kind of surreal about them. Makes me think of a music video by The Motels, called, Suddenly, Last Summer. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Does anybody see/hear the jingle jangle of ice cream trucks in your neighborhood, anymore? I still do. Some people here doesn't like the signal here as well:) Many are those who through the years irritably on Hemglass cars' loud repetitive melody and also pushed the matter to court. A private individual in Skåne-Fagerhult reported in July 2010 Hemglass for disturbing public order and a sound that goes on your nerves. And describes the phenomenon as a "pure terrorist activity" and that it impairs the quality of life. |

I wish they went back to the jingle jangle. [/quote] Old James |

We have an ice cream truck that frequents our suburban neighborhood. I find it charming. |

We had one in Dominguez when I was growing up, most kids flocked to it, Mom couldn't afford that, She was the only one working and I was of school age, Dad provided His $12 of child support at Xmas, in a $20 bill, as that is what Mom wanted, the child support.. The mosquitos are trying to drain people white in the cooler evening time here. I haven't had a mosquito bite in many years. Not sure why. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Summer is really extrem here this year. At the moment we are in the middle of the third heatwave, one week now with more then 35 degrees and it shall stay like that for at least another week. My main cruncher seems to handle the heat pretty good but the core temps on my lappy are now in the range of 80+ |

The mosquitos are trying to drain people white in the cooler evening time here. Of course some of these Mosquitoes were shot down by the fastest plane in the skies then, the Me-262-1a Jet fighter.. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

We have both Mosquitos and Mosquitos... Sweden purchased 60 ex-RAF Mk XIX Mosquitos in 1948 to be used as a night fighter under the J30 designation. The aircraft were assigned to F1 Hässlö, thereby becoming the first (and only) dedicated night fighter unit of the Swedish Air Force. Hate them both when they suddenly get silent... |

Putting the heat on, this was the planned next generation of Me 262, the HGIII. This is where the North American made F-86 Sabre Jet got its wings from. Dive brakes on a 262 would have made for quicker landings when extended, rocket assisted takeoff was planned as an interim work around for the slow takeoff in the 262, both would have made the 262 almost invincible, barring sabotage and diving antiques of course, the Me-163 Komet proved swept wings made the aircraft maneuverable, but then until 1947 or so, the 163 had the speed record at 700mph. Back to summer events. There has been many airshows here several summers in Stockholm. But not any more. It was a dramatic event witnessed by several thousands of spectators. The pilot Lars Rådeström lost control of the plane, pushed out by ejection seat and was unhurt. The aircraft, one of the first to be delivered to the Air Force, struck down on Långholmen, next to Västerbron, caught fire and was completely destroyed. One person on the ground suffered burns. The incident put a stop to further air shows during the Water Festival. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iToQ2FykoI The plane crashed quite near my church where I was baptisted.
