Why why why did they have to make the your/you're error? David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Why why why did they have to make the your/you're error? Normally I am not a spelling stickler, but in this case I entirely agree. |

Why why why did they have to make the your/you're error? This was probably made by someone who isn't quite fluent in English, that's My guess. If I'm wrong, so be it. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Normally I am not a spelling stickler, but in this case I entirely agree. Strangely enough, it was learning computer programming that made me an accurate speller and typist. Back in mainframe days, when there was a several-hour turnround for student jobs on the university's one-and-only computer, you quickly learned not to leave out the comma or semicolon that caused compilation to fail with a syntax error. And using the wrong function name - even if you spell it right - is even worse. |

He knew that Mark, that was his attempt at reverse oneupmanship that didn't work :-)) I did not know that. You posted serious comments, so I take it that you're part of the 90%? You've constantly run down most of the citizens in this country for a long time, ever stopped to think that others may portray you in the same manner? |

...correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar was a basic prerequisite to use the English language properly. ... I might have said "correct spelling, punctuation and grammar WERE basic prerequisites to using the English language properly..." (But I hate to be a stickler.) |

...correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar was a basic prerequisite to use the English language properly. ... I am only a stickler when writing legal documents. Otherwise, I believe in creative spelling. Like William Shakespeare who spelled his name in more than 80 different ways, ranging from “Shappere†to “Shaxberd.†In the handful of signatures that have survived, the Bard never spelled his own name “William Shakespeare,†using variations or abbreviations such as “Willm Shakp,†“Willm Shakspere†and “William Shakspeare†instead. |

...correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar was a basic prerequisite to use the English language properly. ... Are we? I was seeing it as merely a case of having multiple nouns and therefore needing to use the plural verb.
