Team Raccoon Lovers is full of some very excited crunchers right now.

I only wish we had a local 2-week cold front.
After that, the heat and the high pressure can come back again.
As it is now, I will not be able to run my computers 24/7.

Ah well, life continues anyhow :-)

I bought this from Amazon for just €17.

Just put it in front of the PC blowing at the GPU.
I could run 24/7 whilst it was 41°C outside.

My computer is running @49°C atm.
Didn`t run hotter than 54°C when we had 41°C and ambient temp was 29°C inside.

So no harm to expect.

The i7-4790K CPU is known to run hot, even when watercooled as mine is, and the GTX980 isn't exactly a refrigerator either :-)

So, no crunching when temp is 32-40 °C inside my apartment. The house I live in gets up to extreme temperatures when the sun is shining directly at my apartment in the summer, it gets hotter inside than it is outside, and I have a corner apartment too, which doesn't make it any better.

It's better at the winter of course, which the house seems more constructed to handle. (which is OK, because we usually don't get hot summers here, but the winters can be really cold)

Of course I could mod the computer to get cooler, but I have no intention to do that as long as it is under warranty.

I totally understand that.

Happy crunching anyways.
