I have 5 WUs lying around in the 'projects' directory which do not appear in the client_state.xml file at all. It also seems the SETI client is not working on them, only downloading new WUs. Is there any way of telling the client to add these WUs to the cache (there's still 10 days time)? TIA, Marco |

Hmm, Well I can only think of 3 ways to create "orphan" files. 1. Reset/detatch the project - and then force boinc manager to quit, before it deletes the WU files. 2. Set the Read/Only flag on the WU files, and reset/detatch the project. 3. The operating system is messed up somehow, and the instructions BOINC gave to delete the files (when finished, or reset/detached) did not get done by the operating system file manager. The short answer is no. The BOINC database on the server must believe you have been sent these WUs, and are still processing them. If the DB thinks that specific machine of yours (the host) has those WUs, then maybe the client_state could be edited. You can check that host's list of WUs in progress and see what stage the DB believes the WUs are at for your host. |

I have been sent those WUs in quite a regular way. So the database indeed thinks that the specific host is processing them. I also thought of editing the client_state.xml but unfortunately there's that signature part I couldn't "forge", could I? Marco |
