hello,

changing the number of instances has always been a struggle for me. the app_info.xml file i created only wiped all my work units and didn't change the GPU utilization. i've used the lunatics installer in the past but their domain has expired.

could we please get this setting in our SETI@Home preferences like Einstein@Home has?

Lunatics is at http://lunatics.kwsn.info these days.

As for changing amount of tasks to run simultaneously, you need an app_config.xml file for that. See http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration#Application_configuration for more information. Also safer, as you don't have to edit the app_info.xml file.

thanks a lot. i'm going to use lunatics. i can't figure out how to make a app_info.xml file work.

i still think this should be in SETI@Home preferences to make it easier for average folk.

cheers
