I'm only getting a couple of work units at a time. I used to get several units to process. Do I have a setting incorrect or are we just getting a couple at a time now? |

Probably you set the web Computing preferences What are the values for: Store at least XX days of work Store up to an additional XX days of work But (as written at the top): These settings apply to all computers using this account except: * computers where you have set preferences locally using the BOINC Manager Read the top 'Note' on: Local preferences * Settings override the same preferences set on the project's web page preferences. If you ever clicked [OK] in Local preferences - they are in effect. (They ALL are in effect, not only the values you eventually changed. And there is [Clear] button which deletes global_prefs_override.xml If you decide to use [Clear] button - never use [OK] again to "close" the dialog, use [Cancel] or <Esc> ) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Mine says "5 days of work" to store 5 additional days of work. |

Reduce the "additional days" to less than 1 - my computers are set to 0.1, or less, and I sit with maximum possible number of tasks (100 for the cpu, plus 100 for each gpu) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

No way of knowing how long it will last. They need to find the problem first and then they need to see if they can fit it. Hopefully it is nothing serious. It is only 3 am in California so don't expect anyone to be there for at least another 5 hours. Then give them time to try and fix it. You can always check the status of the server from the main page of this website. Click "Home" from the above panel, then go to "about" and find "server status" and click that. There is usually some problems the day after the weekly maintenance. |

...and yesterday's maintenance period was longer than usual - in recent weeks it has been over by about 22:00 GMT, but was still on at 23:00, so "something" hadn't gone according to plan :-( Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Resends can continue to go out when no new work is being generated. Once resends are gone, then no one will get work. |

Ah, but during the recovery from an outage the stats page may not reflect reality since it is only updated at about 15-20 minute intervals and work units are generated and distributed by the second. You're right Rob. And the status page is now showing 130,000+ workunits ready to send. |
