Abstract . . .
"Published anonymously by Thomas Paine in January of 1776,
Common Sense was an instant best-seller, both in the colonies
and in Europe. It went through several editions in Philadelphia,
and was republished in all parts of United America.
Because of it, Paine became internationally famous."
"Paine continued to inspire and encourage the patriots during the
Revolutionary War with a series of pamphlets entitled The American
Crisis. Eventually, Paine went on to write The Rights of Man and
The Age of Reason.
But, it all started with Common Sense, the writing that sparked
an American Revolution."

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

A-107: Cognitive and Neurobiological Mechanisms in Reading Disability.

Excerpt -
" . . . reflects a processing dissociation between phonological and semantic dimensions at the level of functional brain organization. Confirmation of this dissociation account using both fMRI and behavioral measures will provide a foundation for better understanding the specific deficits evident in RD children during word and pseudoword reading and a framework for interpreting changes in functional organization associated with development and/or remediation."
