While this is way off topic, I have to say it: at least some of those disagreements were due to some people manipulating perceptions. They never ever allowed us to find out what we had in common with each other.

The other goodie is "Does my bum look big in this?". Now you aren't going to win that one

Try this responce and i didn't get this out of a book it's what i said to my ex you mite just be surprised at the responce Chris

Next time when your partner say's "does my bum look big in this dress " say " No honey your bum does not you have a cute little bum but your hips do look big in the dress but your waist is smaller and it gives you a much better hour glass figure and is really sexy "

At the very least you won't get any bad remarks . She just looked at me for a few seconds and i could see the cogs turning in her mind and then turn'd around with a big smile on here face .

I don't consider these things to be mind games it's just the way females are .

So there are times when you come across as sexist, but only because you are responding to the unconscious messages you have been taught from the moment you were born. If you had been raised to be aware and tend to other people's feelings and needs the way women are, you wouldn't need to read a book

Ess i did say i didn't read the book till after i got devoiced !!!!!

And Ess i have had to cook , clean , wash cloths , vacume , clean the house since i was very young and look after my younger sisters .

In order to get trackion with the last part of your post can you point me to any culture any where in the world where things are the way you would like them to be .

I have known many women that say they are scared to be alone of a night even really butch females that would not be scared to put a guy on his bum with a good right hook . I think it's not just what we are tought or what our cultures teach us there is biology as well , we are all victims of what sex we are . I will agree some guys are like the way they are because of what they have been tought by our cultures .
And i will all so agree females do need to learn that there life should not be valued by having a man and , i do wish females where more independant

Does it help to have Princess baby factory all over the news?

LMAO!!

Well, you really shouldn't. It seems that, that country places an extreme value on females of just being a baby factory, essentially making that their primary duty. Only after menopause are women then permitted to have any other life. It likely explains a lot of the reactions you get from the people who live there and post here. Something most of them don't realize as to how ingrained it is to their culture. They will be able to cite thousands of examples all in the name of protecting the future. Many, even most, of the examples will even make logical sense. The issue is the underlying assumptions that are made which are false.

Gary that is a M.C.P attitude and a bit unfair of the prince and princess .

They are married and i'm shore they both wanted the kids even without the pressure of expectations of the public .

You also have to remember the Queen or future king of England is also the Head of the Church of England !!!

AKA: same as the POPE !

So blame religion and politics for the expectations ...YES

Are you supposed to always be able to mix your work time with your leisure time? Are you supposed to be able to carry out your business work or professional work while at the same time be caring for children and family, including your husband or wife?

YES that is what society expects , man up ! fellow

Really, this subject is not related to Seti@home at all, but some people supposedly do not seem to bother.

Oh my gosh!!

but your hips do look big in the dress

Ouch! I wouldn't dare try that one. Look, women KNOW when they look good and feel good, the very fact that she has to ask for a second opinion, means a danger signal. I would try "Look darling, a simple yes or no is not what you really want to hear is it? Why not ask your best friend next door, her opinion is better than mine."

Does it help to have Princess baby factory all over the news?

Some might say a welcome aside from the election! But the new baby is 4th in line to the British Royal throne, a not everyday occurrence. It will soon die down. C'mon, be happy for Wills and Kate, everyone else is :-)

It seems that, that country places an extreme value on females of just being a baby factory, essentially making that their primary duty. Only after menopause are women then permitted to have any other life.

Double ouch, sorry not true, just because the popular press want to make a killing flogging copy is no excuse to exaggerate young man!

OMG another man has been assimilated into the female Borg cube ..... "man up ! fellow" indeed.

I currently have and enjoy a 35 year live in relationship with my female partner, and dealt/deal with 4 unofficial step daughters and their offspring along the way. I rather think that real day to day life is more relevant in this world than esoterics on a bulletin board.

We both bring equal qualities to the relationship, but traditionally she always says that she is my better half :-) And yes on mothers day she gets a card from our two cats saying thanks for looking after us mum. It's soppy things like that that really matter, not all this Boadicea breast thumping for equality.

Not how big there bum is !!
Not weather the color is ok , mind you if like say so .

Small waist making shoulders and hips bigger is sexy and there is in fact a raio for the perfect sexy shape , all women know this and they know they don't have to be the perfect raio

Glenn! I think that you are very greatly underestimating and not understanding women. Women like to look good and feel good and be comfortable in whatever they wear when they go out. They are not all out to be on the pull. Occasionally they make an iffy fashion choice and want reassurance that they can get away with it. Their best mates are best placed to give them that advice.

@Glenn and Chris,

you have both distilled your understanding of women to them asking "does my bum look big in this?"

Can neither of you see the problem with you discussion and how patronising it is to women?

Ess that does not answer the question , who's right me or Chris !! It's a question of who understand what a woman is saying or not .

It has also been the top answer on game shows . Ess you naughty girl changing the subject .I would say Chris answer is over thinking the question and patronising not my answer which I Bloody know is the correct one .

Chris follow this link , however you can use the word sexy when it is put the way I did but beautiful if it's a normal answer , I'm playful so my answer is also correct .

Read the last bit

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2282166/No-look-great-What-answer-partner-asks-does-bum-look-big-this.html

It helps if you understand why women say it Chris they will give you a couple of chancses to comment on the dress but what they wish to know with that question is do they look good as the article says it's that simple .

Neither is correct.

The correct answer is to try to create a world where a woman's worth is not so much judged on her looks that she is terrified of being judged unattractive everytime she leaves the house.

There is no correct answer because there is something fundamentally wrong with the question.

Tell her you think she looks amazing in whatever she wears and not to worry about what others think so much. Tell her that she is so amazing on so many levels that no mere piece of clothing can change that. If that doesn't work, tell her to go read "fat is a feminist issue" by Susie Orbach.
