Texas. Force women who miscarry to have a funeral. Nice extra expense.
http://connectingdirectors.com/articles/48799-texas-not-budging-on-rule-requiring-burial-or-cremation-of-fetal-remains
Following an initial public comment period that sparked medical concerns and a legal threat, Texas health officials have re-submitted for public consideration a proposed rule change that prohibits hospitals, abortion clinics and other health care facilities from disposing of fetal remains in sanitary landfills, instead allowing only cremation or interment of all remains regardless of the period of gestation — even in instances of miscarriages.
...
The health commission also appears to have ignored a suggestion from the anti-abortion group Texas Right to Life that the health commission should clarify the rules so they do not apply to miscarriages that occur at home — a requirement, opponents reiterated, could require a woman who miscarries at home to carry the fetal tissue or blood products of a miscarriage to a doctor’s office or hospital.

My mother had two miscarriages and a stillbirth before I came along, but to my knowledge only the stillbirth was buried(I've visited the grave, recently).

Two positive moves to undo some of the more insidious misogyny in some of the media and advertising:

'Real women' take over pages of British Vogue

British Vogue's November issue will be "model-free" and instead feature "real women" only on its fashion pages and in editorial features for the first time...

... There has been long-standing criticism of the fashion industry, its designers, shops, magazines and advertising, for using models who convey an unrealistic image of the size of women...

Twitch and YouTube 'taking misogynistic abuse in gaming seriously'

... "Online abuse is a society-wide issue and there's a shared responsibility to combat it through technology and education,"...

Still a question of a better and more balanced culture needed all round?

L's G's B's T's & Q's
These are all welcome to use whatever bathroom they want.
Question: Who really cares?
Answer: The small minded and insecure. (Probably the very same people that continue the baiting and bashing in every message thread. After all, insecurity is insecurity.)

Back to topic. Trafficing of men, women and children is a $20 Billion + industry.
The best thing the average person can do to combat the crimes against women would be to contribute whenever possible to an NGO that has proven effective at rescuing victims and creating awareness within abusive cultures.
Here is an example: http://rescuefoundation.net/
Here is a another: http://www.globalemancipation.ngo/about-us/

Give a contribution in the name of those you love for birthday gifts, mothers day gifts, etc. There is no way they won't thank you for the gift or regift or return it.

http://abc7.com/news/trump-brags-about-groping-women-in-vulgar-remarks-caught-on-tape/1544651/
In the recording, obtained by The Washington Post, Trump is heard talking about how he tried to have an affair with a married woman and described how he makes moves on women.

"You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful -- I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait," Trump can be heard saying on the tape.

"And when you're a star they let you do it... You can do anything."

"Whatever you want," another voice is heard saying.

"Grab them by the p----," Trump says. "You can do anything."

In the recording, Trump tells then-"Access Hollywood" host Billy Bush about how he tried to have an affair with an unidentified woman.

"I moved on her and I failed. I'll admit it," Trump said. The recording reportedly occurred several months after Trump married his third wife, Melania.

"I did try and f--- her. She was married," he said, going on to say that he took her furniture shopping and then later describing how she had changed her looks.

"I moved on her like a b----, but I couldn't get there. And she was married," he said.

"Then all of a sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony t--- and everything. She's totally changed her look."

COLUMBIA, MO (KTVI) - A University of Missouri fraternity already suspended for possible racial problems is under investigation for allegedly giving pledges date rape drugs and instructing them to use them on female students.

A Mizzou spokeswoman confirms both the Civil Rights & Title IX as well as the Student Conduct officers are investigating the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Dozens of pages of documents Fox 2 obtained reveal allegations of serving alcohol to underage students, hazing pledges and probably the most serious, the question of using date rape drugs.

The allegations against members of Delta Upsilon are serious. In a letter to the fraternity from the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX Assistant Vice Chancellor Ellen Eardley wrote, "Active members of delta upsilon fraternity allegedly provided each new member with three pills and instructed them to drug women for the purpose of incapacitating them prior to engaging in sexual activity. it has been alleged that new members are required to engage in such conduct in order to complete the initiation process."

If true:

They will face serious criminal consequences.

Unfortunately, unlikely. You forget who their daddy's are. The most that you could expect is a one year suspension of the fraternity. There will not be any investigation against any member because his daddy alumni won't give a building if there was. Money buys justice. Ask OJ. Ask Trump.

For an everyday example of where the modern day west meets the most modern of the old west of Africa:

The Moroccan women fighting daily sexual harassment

In Morocco, it's not easy for women to walk the streets unmolested. Morgan Meaker hears from some who want to put an end to endemic harassment.

For Ghizlane Ahblain, the word "whore" is a constant refrain...

"In Morocco, everything you do, you're a whore," says Ghizlane, who works at a hotel. "If you wear lipstick, you're a whore. If you wear a headscarf, you're a whore."...

... But street harassment doesn't just leave women with that silenced, suffocating sense of feeling violated. In Morocco, it also limits their freedoms - the freedom to get an education, to go to work, to feel safe in the place they call home.

And while a shift in attitudes could still take decades, in the short term, reforming the law on sexual harassment does send a clear message - about what is acceptable and what isn't...

... Together, we look down at the beach. The Atlantic ocean blurs into the monochrome Moroccan sky. I notice there are only boys swimming in the water. I ask my new friend, "Do you think, maybe, it would be OK to go swimming… in a bikini?" Giggling, she says, "I mean, you could..." She pauses awkwardly looking into the blue on blue below. "But I would never..." ...

http://www.dw.com/en/iran-women-bike-against-female-cycling-fatwa/a-19570005
Iran's religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has angered women across the country by issuing an edict banning them from riding bicycles.

"Riding [bicycles] often attracts the attention of men and exposes society to corruption, and thus contravenes women's chastity, and it must be abandoned," Khamenei said on September 10, according to Iranian state media.

Female cycling enthusiasts regularly face criticism and some have even been attacked or arrested in the past.

Recently, a series of campaigns encouraging people to ride their bikes in order to lower air pollution has caught on in numerous Iranian cities, leading many, both men and women, to cycle more often.

Male contraceptive injection successful trial halted: Apparently women can have such ailments as depression and acne thrust upon them for the greater good of preventing an unwanted pregnancy, but the same level of discomfort cannot be expected of men

Just a question, no disagreement with the article.

How many women, excluding those those who would be answering about their husband/partner, would trust a man who said he was on the pill?

To what end would they lie? To get a woman pregnant? Then I guess these are the same sort of men who poke holes in condoms, or switch out contraceptive pills (yes, these things do happen).

Do you see the male pill as men taking control of their own fertility or taking control of women's?

What about men who have vasectomys? Should women married to them trust them?

Not sure what your point is.

So if you met a man and agreed to have sex if he had protection, you would believe him if he said he was on the pill?

And another thought, with all the warnings about STD's wouldn't you want a barrier, a condom, therefore what is the point of a male contraceptive for the single man, or the unfaithful married man?

Let me interject, if you don't trust whomever you are about to jump in bed with enough to tell the truth about STD's and birth control, why are you willing to jump into bed with them?
