New Lunatics installer? Or not? Meow? "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

New Lunatics installer? I'm waiting until I get a formal note that the complete set of new applications has been verified and signed off as ready to go, and a link for where the master copies can be downloaded from in one batch. Last time, I got shouted at in big red letters for producing a beta installer containing applications from the release candidates thread, instead of chasing round all sorts of obscure locations to find the non-release test apps which were released instead - and even then, they didn't contain a full set of current bugfixes. So, when they're fully ready, let me know, and I'll installerize them. |

New Lunatics installer? I won't yell at ya...LOL. I just got 9 rigs to maintain here, and anything less than a Lunatics update is rather tedious to do manually, ya see. Did not see anything on the horizon last time I checked in on the Lunatics site, so I had to ask...... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

judging from this thread responses: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77052 hardly such set will be available in any foreseen future. When app requires update because of new incompatibility or bug exposure it gets update. |

For now, I am just happy that the current Lunatics release is powerful and stable on my rigs. Anything better would just be icing on the cake here. That, and more AP being split in the first place, LOL. The time shall come. I am not clear as to what the status of data recording at Arecibo is these days. Do we not have access to record more? I thought we had the hard drive issue covered. The lack of current datasets is distressing the kitties somewhat. Meow? "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Not while you're scratching around in http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77119 Yep, versatility is required in undermanned environment. Did you have chance to check my suggestion so far, expressed in very that thread? http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77119&postid=1664500 |

Just finished my first new AP task with the new 7.10 application under the latest 350.12 Nvidia drivers. All OK. Always some apprehension when having to manually modify app_info to get the new application and its related files inputted correctly. I didn't mess with the plan class and left it at 705. I figure once the updated lunatics installer gets made that will sort itself out. Thanks again to the developers for making such good applications. Hmm, I didn't do anything to my ap_info and I see I have 2 completed 7.10, it had to have updated itself. EDIT: Thinking, my XP computer has never had a GPU before, and these were the first AP tasks the GPU has seen, so it just loaded the newest version?? And I didn't have to tell it to? |

I didn't think that app_info of any kind was automatically updated by the project. Maybe it was simply a matter of previously not running AP before and the project saw you check AP projects as viable work you wanted to process and it automatically downloaded the correct application. I would think that maybe sched_request.XXXX.xml might have requested the new app. Could you check your app_info and see if you have entries for the AP7 OpenCL tasks and also what plan_class you have listed for those tasks? I'm curious. Or maybe some expert can set us straight in our understanding. See also that my other computer crunched with the new app, however didn't prove anything much as it finished with a 100% blanking exit. I guess that proves the error detection works. His XP machine has only ever been issued stock applications - no report of Anonymous Platform, so no app_info.xml in use. Application details for host 7446133 |

I'm no expert but from what I know, the only time you have to edit you app_info is if you are using an app_info that causes your system to be listed as anonymous or you are using the Lunatics installed apps. (If you don't update your Nvidia Driver to 350.12 it's a mute point since this new AP app version was developed only to deal with the OpenCL 1.2) Since Brent is using stock (and the newest Nvidia driver), seti automatically downloaded the newest AP v7.10 to his system. He is not required to edit or put in an app_info.xml at all However, since you are using an App_info.xml Keith (and using NV driver 350.12), you are required to modify yours and also download the appropriate app and install it in the setiathome folder. That's my understanding Zalster PS, i'm holding out for hopefully a new Lunatics version with all the recent changes so I don't have to fool with any of this. ;) |

I have and app_info on both machines, it's just a standard one with command line, and CPU/GPU usage to get 2 tasks to run. |

Along with per-device config. Can't recall was it included in last installer already. PS, i'm holding out for hopefully a new Lunatics version with all the recent changes so I don't have to fool with any of this. ;) I made Lunatics standalone version available via dropbox since issue was found, after few hours after issue report. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1qtetgi13m61p29/AP7_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_NV_r2887.7z?dl=0 Perhaps you awaiting Lunatics installer, not app. |

I have and app_info on both machines, it's just a standard one with command line, and CPU/GPU usage to get 2 tasks to run. If you have, it's not working, because both machines are being allocated stock applications. Perhaps you mean app_config.xml instead? |
