They now have coffe on the ISS. but when the coffee runs out, the astronauts also won't be able to pop open a can of beer.

“It would be nice [if we had beer, but we don't]. One problem if any kind of carbonated beverage...when you open a beer or soda on Earth the carbonation will come to the top and out of the bottle...when we do that in space it would just stay in the liquid itself; it wouldn't rise to the top. So you'd be drinking a beverage that would have a lot of gas in it, so that's not ideal,” Kelly said.

Message 1668158 - Posted: 21 Apr 2015, 22:01:19 UTC

G'morning everyone, from another soggy morning down under.

I just got back from dropping my old car off for its yearly road worthy check for rego, but the walk back up the hill wasn't very nice in the cold and drizzle. :-(

Now I'm just waiting for another laptop to be dropped off by a person that I would've thought should've know better than to fall for that old scam by people claiming that they're from Microsoft who then bricked it. :-(

Oh well, at least it's only 3.5hrs to Beer O'clock. :-)

Cheers.

G'day Julie, Mike and Zapped.

We did get a little sunshine here for about 10mins, and then the crap closed back in again. :-(

Oh well, I might as well have another coffee I guess seeing as there's still 2.5hrs until LLB.

Cheers.

I didn't know that about carbonated beverages up there. The beer thread is very educational. :~)

Hold on there a minute, you mean to
say that "if I had a liver" I still
could not have a beer on the ISS,
why would any one go there?
