When The DB stopped making new files I was at 134 Pendings, 3 days later I am still at 92. I am not complaining but somehow I expected this to drop a bit quicker since crunchers should start running out of work units as time goes on. Is everyone else showing the same slow decline in pendings? I've noticed the same for previous periods of no new work. The average turnaround time grows almost linearly, it's up from 40 hours to about 160 so far this time. That turnaround time usually includes whatever work buffer sizes participants are maintaining, but my impression is the main factor now may be actual crunch time. Bear in mind that about half the work is done by hosts with RAC of 770 or less. The deadlines from other projects may also cause SETI tasks to be delayed, and there are probably other contributing factors. I can't think of a good way to pin those factors down. Joe |
