I see the Replica database has gone off-line again. Looks like it happened about 23 May 2015 1020 UTC. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

they can fix it during the maintenance outage, let the staff have a holiday weekend - at least the project hasn't crashed yet, thank you Mrs. Murphy... Member of the 20 Year Club |

However, it is somewhat irritating, as i wanted to tweak some parameters over the weekend, which i cannot do now,as i can't see the results. |

Well, they can't blame it on the 'Resend Lost Task' feature this time. That feature has been off for days as can be seen by these Lost Tasks, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=6796475&offset=300&show_names=0&state=0&appid=11 This host has 200 of them, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7159696&offset=280&show_names=0&state=0&appid= I'm sure there are many more... |

And then again, the same problem with AP availability comes back. I'm soon out of AP's again. Consider yourself extremely lucky to even HAVE ap's, haven't seen one in weeks/months ;-) P. |

I've managed to snag a few, by carefully maintaining 'hungry' caches on the equipment. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

On this fine holiday afternoon I checked the SSP and it continues to show no APs being split. |

Have a look @ this computers tasks: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7568508 ...this is only one example of such hosts. How is this possible regarding me getting 1, ONE (!!!) AP in the last WEEKS(!!)? This simply is *not* fair! Aloha, Uli |

He has been collecting AP's since 11 May, but only started to crunch yesterday. |

Have a look @ this computers tasks: It is irritating, I agree, and I tend to be in the same boat. Only thing I've seen in AP world lately is the odd resend. Thing is, this is a new computer as of this month, which got a tremendous slug of tasks. This happens, I've been told, since the databases have no history of performance available on which to determine a reasonable number of tasks to deliver, and rely on a quick analysis of machine capability to determine the initial sends. We all got the benefit of that when we were "newbies", and then as we developed a history the work we get was tailored to our performance. Not saying it's right, and I have to think that it could be vastly improved, but that seems to be why this happens. I don't recall the number of tasks you have to have completed before the numbers start getting reasonable, but there is a lower limit. Only good news is based on how this guy performs so far, we'll be seeing his timeout resends soon enough. Cheers ... |

Yes it takes awhile to get the estimates right. My AMD 4200+ estimates 17h for an AP, but it more like 50h. A wrong click and I got a way more work than I wanted. But it looks like my MB files should be done by the deadlines. One thing that surprised me is BOINC's 'high priority' mode, even though I shut down 1 core for GPU feeding, BOINC kicked in high priority and used both cores. I could see this in BoincTasks app. Back to 1 core now, but I expect it will kick in again. |

Tapping my fingers in anticipation ... That file list for splitting is getting might short, AP splitting should fire up soon :D And data appears to be coming 'down the hill' |

Wave goodbye to the short-term cricket graphs for the gigabitethernet 6_17. I still don't understand why this is not working, it apparently has not been moved and either it is or is not part of the UC Berkeley network, why would that make any difference? It Member of the 20 Year Club |

I still don't understand why this is not working, it apparently has not been moved and either it is or is not part of the UC Berkeley network, why would that make any difference? It Probably because they are looking at other options right now. I would imagine the IT guys are using a tool like Cisco Prime(or the older Cisco Works) for their internal needs. If the school year isn't yet over I imagine it is ending soon. Which would likely put the priority to replace the external graphing tools low on the list. Well 6_17 is unplugged and sitting on a shelf somewhere since the network upgrade. I'm sure they will post a new monitoring tool when/if it becomes available. |
