I'm confused about the current 'tasks in progress' limit. 100 tasks for: CPU Intel iGPU NVidia GPU ATI/AMD GPU - right? If a PC have 2 NVidia GPUs, does this mean he get 300 tasks (CPU 100 & 2x NV 100)? Thanks. |

I'm confused about the current 'tasks in progress' limit. That's affirmative. |

I got a boat load of MBs on Prometheus, and three APs on Exeter. :-) I am grateful that Main is working. I'm just stating that since the Outrage on Tuesday, Beta has been off line. I would have thought that by now, they'd have it sorted... Maybe Monday... TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

And now comes the traditional post outage "Shortie Storm" :) Yep. I've getting the odd VLAR & longer running GPU WUs, but mostly it's been shorties so far. Grant Darwin NT |

Message by Akio Sorry, but I left a small bit out of my answer in the last thread. :-( What I left out is that each of my rigs here @SETI are set to a venue preference where as my backup projects are left set to "Primary (default) preferences". My venues here are set to grab as much as they can get (limits get in the way of that ever happening), but if they run out and need backup work then those backup projects revert to "Primary preferences" which are restricted to just 1 day's work each instead. ;-) Cheers. |

The office will be warm in the morning again!!! LOL... I woke up a bit ago and had rigs crashed all over. I had closed the door and window that let cooling air in because it had cooled down to 60f. Oh boy....the rigs came back online and it hit 84f. Some of the crunchers don't stay online over about 75. Trying to stabilize thingys again now.................... The office will be warm in the morning again!!! I've been there, and lost a couple of GPU's. Now I have an automated monitor that suspends GPU or everything as needed when the box gets too hot and resumes when it has cooled down. Haven't lost a piece of hardware since. I use CPUID HWMonitor Pro to send pertinent data to log files and AutoHotKey to scan the logs and take appropriate action. It comes in handy in summer time. |

Things are not so easy with 9 rigs. I get little warning if things go astray. If the fans in the garage don't kick in, it can go from 60 to 90f in here pretty quick. 9 rigs, half a kilowatt each...a couple of them do almost a kwatt each. Do the math. Things are not so easy with 9 rigs. Between 4.5 & 9 KW. So lets call it 7.5KW. A 1500w plug in heater can keep a 13'x15' room warm enough to only wear shorts when it is below freezing outsize. And that is with it cycling off & on. You basically have 5 of those running 24/7. I guess I need more GPUs, I have a heater under my desk running 24/7. But Zalster won't send me a 980 for long term acoustic testing :( LOL |

980s are on short supply at the moment... Have to check the closet...Might be 780 in there.. They provide better heating than the 980s do lol |

980s run much cooler than 780s - they use only about 2/3 the power. If heat is what you want, go back to the 5xx, 4xx or 2xx. |

Looks like no more splitting due to lack of storage space (I'm guessing - Until the assimilators are started to clear completed work.) [:o( |

Looks like no more splitting due to lack of storage space (I'm guessing - Until the assimilators are started to clear completed work.) Could be some sort of hard limit working there, given that the sum of: results waiting validation, work units waiting validation and work units waiting assimilation seems to be right at 10,000,000. Of course I bet anyone who really knows how it all hooks together gets great laughs out of watching us trying to read the tea leaves:) |
