We should have a statistics page on the block list so we can behave more like a collective .....

I doubt you would actually agree to that, but OTOH I suspect you would agree it is wise for some of us to have some others on ignore. Further, that you probably ignore some of the same, or don't have them blocked but still ignore much of their posts or, finally, are losing your patience for some.

The point of my previous post was to demonstrate the ridiculous extremes to which a few took my prior to previous post. I believe it should have been clear: I am not here for mudslinging. I am here for debate, even if with people I do not agree. If someone crosses my self-defined line of offensive, why should I read anything more from that person? Or would they prefer I sink to their level(s)?

The issue may be that someone will attempt to score the highest on the ignore list, just as there are people out to be number one on the posts made or post viewed lists.

Re: 'Debates'
I believe these should be discussions. Not, silly little Debates.
Debates, in my opinion, are nothing more than trying to convince others of your opinion. As Lawyers in a Courtroom (who can take either side).
Discussions, are about attempting to arrive at some 'truth' (whatever that may be). And if no consensus: Agree to Disagree. Essentially having a long conversation, over Coffee (Beer?), at our favorite spot.
I find Debates to be Boring (We know 'The Sides'), Truly Unthinking, and just an 'Ego Trip' for those involved.
Do we Agree, to Disagree?

I agree totally.
SETI started a Fora called Politics, Discussion of Political Topics, not Debates of Political Topics.

SETI started a Fora called Politics, Discussion of Political Topics, not Debates of Political Topics.

Actually, Seti did neither. It started a forum (singular) simply called Politics. The reason for that was to take all the heated stuff away from the cafe where it was causing a problem. It was then decided to take a rather more "lenient view" of posts made within the new forum, but still firmly within the rules.
Posts here are discussions, debates, exchanges of views, however you wish to see it, upon a range of topics.

Thanks Chris. Latin is not my second language and grammer is difficult.

Number Singular Plural
nominative forum fora
genitive fori fororum
dative foro foris
accusative forum fora
ablative foro foros
vocative forum fora

But view this SETI page.

Besides, now someone wants to debate the meaning of debate? LOL!
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

debate: noun
A discussion in which reasons are advanced for and against some proposition or proposal
Seems like a debate is a discussion .........

Now things are getting silly here.
Debate, discussion, conversation or whatever.
This a social forum on the internet.
Nobody knows who the other person is.
And there is also a timegap between the persons depending of the persons location.

Nobody knows who the other person is.

Some of the time that is false.

I see. Like a social club:)

A Stockholm pub has been voted the "Best pub in the World" in the Best of British awards for establishments outside of the UK, organized by the Daily Telegraph and British Airways.
The 2010 winner of the title is The Tudor Arms in the Östermalm area of the city which has been recognised for being "an institution in Stockholm for expats".
"I think we won as a result of almost 40 years of flying the flag for the UK in this part of the world - fantastic," said Tudor Arms landlord Chris Billowes

http://www.thelocal.se/20100427/26306

I have met Chris together with my sister because she is member of the Tudor Arms Social Club and knows him well.
We where discussing, not debating, about smoking in a pub.
Chris liked that we are not allowed to smoke in an establishment.
Why? Because he didn't have to wash his shirt so often:)

Somebody finally got it. Figures it had to be someone with brains. Now, as to the original claim that we somehow are not having a discussion here....

"Janne, myself, and others, will continue our attempt to educate them".

Yes, it's obvious that Clyde, Janne, and Dull, ( aka..SillyMan, SweMan, and DullMan.) are the wise-old-men-of-seti.
They will educate us all on the early signs of old-timers-disease (aka Alzheimer's).
Ranting, pontificating, and blathering are all on the Curriculum.

LOL. I don't think different views or opinions are early signs of old-timers-disease (aka Alzheimer's).
On the contrary.

Edit.
Oh, a new nickman for me. SweMan. Like it:)
