As you can see... As a non-European, by that statement, aren't you showing your limitations? I know little of American politics, so can't comment. That does not prevent me from reading & learning. |

Americans normally don't comment regarding Foreign Nations Internal Politics. American do, as Intelligent People, understand NO ONE, outside a Country, can truly understand its Internal Politics and Culture. Oh please, you don't comment? China begs to differ. History is littered with examples of America barging into a countries internal affairs because it didn't like what it saw. Not always for the right reasons, but also not always for the wrong reasons. But to say that America doesn't bother with what other countries do inside their own borders is nonsense. |

As you can see... Other nationals outside America don't think they have all the answers and are prepared to look around at others to see if there is a better idea or weather it has already been tried . But Americans believe they are the be all and end all of everything and there ideas are the only way . So for a intelligent people to think this way is not intelligent. More arrogant than intelligent which leads to stupidity and the mess some country's are now in . If that is intelligent then there is no hope for those people . Admitting one is wrong is the first step to changing things and accepting advice on how to change is intelligent .So are you really intelligent Clyde ? |

I did not name call , you stated you are intelligent i just pointed out that at the moment maybe your people are not as intelligent and your response i guess shows that maybe at the moment your not intelligent but childish . Which would explain why your country is in so much trouble . But i'll give you a out . I've noticed at the end of winter you Americans put your foot in your mouth more than at any other time , so i'm wondering if that because you have to heat your homes with gas or oil heaters that produce so much Co2 that by the end of winter your all punch drunk from lack of O2 . So here's a idea ......OPEN A WINDOW ON THE GROUND FLOOR to let the Co2 escape as Co2 is heavier than O2 and will sink to the lower floors and leave the house via the open window ... Just a idea mate ... |

Well said MajorKong. Yes, real Libertarians do not consider themselves part of the Grand Old Party (Republican), nor do they support a tax-and-spend gov't like the Democratic party seems to. Unfortunately, it seems the Republicans instead borrow (from China, for one) and spend, right? Doing a web search before finishing this post, I see I am not the only one using the phrase. http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2005/10/13/borrow_and_spend_conservatism/ Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Well said MajorKong. Yes, real Libertarians do not consider themselves part of the Grand Old Party (Republican), nor do they support a tax-and-spend gov't like the Democratic party seems to. Borrow-and-spend is the same as tax-and-spend in all respects except that in borrow-and-spend the taxes are collected in the future, not the present, and also an interest charge is incurred therefore increasing the amount of taxes needed. Other than that, they are totally equivalent. Besides, 'borrow-and-spend' is what the BOTH of the major parties in Washington DC do... witness the growth of the national debt. BOTH the Democrats AND the Republicans will tax what they think they can get away with, then borrow the remainder needed to spend at the level they wish. |

Apples/Oranges, of course, and very typical. Riiight, so when America does comment on other countries internal affairs, its suddenly so different that it cannot be compared to when others comment on American internal affairs. |

Well said MajorKong. Yes, real Libertarians do not consider themselves part of the Grand Old Party (Republican), nor do they support a tax-and-spend gov't like the Democratic party seems to. I recently paid off a credit card and will never do business with them again. To paraphrase my fiscally conservative father, and I'm sure other heard similarly, don't borrow what you can't afford to pay back. So, it is stunning to see Republicans borrow. How will the taxes be collected in the future when they do so little to raise taxes? Guess we can expect to see some more bridges collapsing, right? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

So, it is stunning to see Republicans borrow. The tax they are raising is called inflation. They can support raising this tax because they don't have to vote for it so they don't break their Norquist pledge. Also this is an extremely regressive tax. What surprises me is how many Democrats also sign on to this practice. |

I really really don't want to start another thread, so considering a Monarchy as a form of government I'll post this here. Now this is my own opinion. But I think Prince Charles knows how much he is disliked in his own country. So look for him to be crowned and then abbdicate shortly there after to his son. Kind of like what happend to KIng Georges brother in the 30's. [/quote] Old James |

The queen will never abdicate, she will reign until she dies. Certainly the tabloid press want her to live forever:) |

I don't understand what so many people have against Charles, having met him many years ago (I was in a school brass band that played for him when he visited the local cathedral) he seemed like a very nice man. Okay, maybe he does talk to plants and doesn't like modern buildings, but he's a royal, they're supposed to be a bit eccentric. I also met Camilla when she visited a stately home at which i used to work, she was very nice too. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |
