OK; I was a user, I lost my account due to ISP malfeasance, I'm back - I created a new account & it said I could claim my back history.
I tried; I found my old account is still active (so I can't claim back my old data). I also can't change my old account to my new email (as I just used it on the new a/c) - I did manage to work out my old a/c login details.

How, then, do I deactivate either account so I can go back to being my old self please?

First, you can't merge Boinc accounts...

Since you have access to your original account, I suggest that you change the e-mail address on the new account to whatever you want.. e-mails are not checked validity.

You will now be able to edit your old account to your new e-mail address.

If your Boinc is already attached to the new Seti account, Remove it in BOINC.
Using your e-mail and password add the old Seti account in BOINC.

Any credit received with the new account will be lost.

As stated, I can't - it does check: This is the error message:

There's already an account with that email address

So I can either delete the new account (but I don't see a way) or, it says I can claim credit from an old account.. I'd prefer plan a, kill off the new a/c.

You can't delete accounts. Just log in to the new account and change the e-mail to something like abc@def.com. If it doesn't accept it, it's probably because someone else as used it already so try something else. Accounts use e-mail as a unique identifier so you can't use an e-mail that is already in use.

Claim credits can only be used once to attach Seti Classic credits to a BOINC account. The account your posting with shows Seti Classic numbers so this option has already been used.

Please look again at the procedure I've already posted.

Note: when attaching BOINC to the old Seti account, use the existing account option in the wizard.
