We are waiting with bated breath.

Clyde the fact I agree with Igor on the subject of not understanding you says nothing about agreeing with him on anything else. If you hold your breath long enough you face will tun purple.

Hey!
Igor is from Kazakhstan but born in Kamtjatka Russia as far as I know from discussions here before.
That Russia and Afghanistan will go to war is very unlikely.
Only that Russia will try the same thing as NATO (Oh Sweden as well) to eridacite Daesh terrorists.

With the richest 10% owning 87% of all the country’s wealth, Russia is rated the most unequal of the world’s major economies.
Amid falling oil prices and a wave of protests, Shaun Walker asks how Russians really feel about life’s inequalities.
A new class of Russian billionaire has appeared in the past decade, many of them personally linked to the Russian president.
https://www.theguardian.com/inequality/2017/apr/25/unequal-russia-is-anger-stirring-in-the-global-capital-of-inequality/
Approximately 23 million Russians – about 16% of the population – now officially subsist below the poverty line, and there are increasing signs that the huge concentration of wealth in the hands of a tiny percentage of the population is starting to annoy more Russians – especially as many of the richest people are government officials, or those close to them. A recent report found that 41% of Russians say they struggle to get enough money together for food and clothing.

Well. There is Moldava.
Anatol Stati, one of the richest men in Moldova, the poorest country in Europe, built himself a castle.

Hehe:) Heck no. The US and almost every country in the world chose to not get too many oligarks in power.
For some reason the Russian people always make the wrong decision when voting or being appointed a leader.
Will it be a revolution in Russia like what happened exactly 100 years ago?

I disagree, the oligarchs will rule untill the pitchforks come out.

They do have a track record.

They may see pitchforks also.

TASS news agency: Afghanistan asks Russia for support in supplies, training for military, police
http://tass.com/world/941640

Just noting that there will be a disaster in the making if this happens. IE: A possible escalation of Russian involvement. Then another Foreign Failure.

Igor disagreed regarding a possible Russian failure.

Of course, I think it's only fantasy about possible escalation of Russian involvement in Afghanistan. Nobody want it in Russia and nobody need. Also, there is not any allies of Russia in Afghanistan. Business is business, money, nothing more. For a possible case of Taliban victory in future, Russia holds and arms the border line of Tajikistan, for many years already, and preparations can be strengthened, but it's not Afghanistan.

Just another Historical Disaster in the making.

If it's written about some future actions of USA somewhere in the world, I can agree. If you try to predict about Russians in Afghanistan, it's wrong fiction.

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was hospitalized on Thursday, after an unknown man attacked him outside his office in Moscow. The assailant sprayed a green antiseptic into Navalny’s face, drenching his right eye in the noxious chemical.

“It looks pretty funny, but my eye hurts like hell” he said later.

More misinformation from Western media:

The Sun: Racism in Russia. Dynamo Kiev fans produce shock racially aggravated display in defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk
https://www.thesun.co.uk/video/football/dynamo-kiev-fans-produce-shock-racially-aggravated-display-in-defeat-to-shakhtar-donetsk/

But in the reality, Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk and all their fans with poster "100% White" in video, it's Ukraine, not Russia..

Moscow. Hundreds of people in Moscow today left a letter to President Putin, demanding him to resign.
In Saint Petersburg some thirty people were arrested who tried to do the same.
"I'm here because I've had enough of what's going on in the country.
I have had enough of our president.
He sees his third period in power and has not fulfilled one of his promises." says 57-year-old doctor Olga Mazoreva.
The number of police officers is large, among them civil-clad police officers who photograph the people in the queues.
"They are from the Center for the fight against extremism. They fight against extremists. Such as we." says Olga Mazorva and laughs heartily.
Many in Russia are afraid of revolutions.
If Putin puts up in elections next year, he will be Russia's president until 2024.
It is a prospect that Denis Balandin, a 29-year-old Perm programmer, does not want to accept.
"Everyone is afraid. But on the other hand ... when we saw how many were arrested on March 26, we understood that they still can not grab everyone. The people want change."

#1 - Sorry... Russia has a history of attempting to 'grab everyone'. Those they cannot 'grab'. (Gulags). They terrorize into silence and submission.
#2 - "The people want change." So?

1. Sorry Clyde, Russia today is not like it was in the 1930's.
2. Well 100 years ago there was a revolution. However that didn't change the Russian people for better.

Russia is a BIG country and all roads goes to Moscow.
The closer you get to Moscow the more unfriendly people gets.

Sorry... Same Culture.
The names of the Leaders, the names of the Prisons, the name of the Government System, may change.
Russia doesn't.

Oh dear.
Do you know how many cultures Russia have?
There are MANY.
And many Russians don't like what Moscow and Kremlin are up to.

It's not.

Then we have Caucasus...
Do you know who this man is?

My GF's grandmother was a Russian and a Sami.
My GF was born at the border between Finland and Russia.
30,000 Sami's are now living in the US.
Ever heard of Sapmi?

Or Karelia?

VERY close to Putin's hometown Saint Petersburg.

Russia reminds me of China.
As with Russia. China has many different languages, religions and peoples.
But the Cultural Foundation of their Ruling Power, as with Russia. Is not lawful.

1.371 billion (2015) people lives in China,
144.1 millions (2015) people lives in Russia.
However how many different languages and religions they have I don't know.
I guess Russia has more.

Cultural Foundation in Russia?
Well it started with Rurik a Viking and his two brothers from today Sweden, Finland or Estonia, about a thousand year ago :)

Well, Russia has more than China. 185 ethnicities in Russia, 56 in China.

In comparison, the USA it is difficult to trace ethnicities due to the Census Bureau mainly focusing on Race.

But a good estimate can be made by looking at the number of different languages spoken in the USA.

Total number of languages spoken in the USA = 311.
Number of languages that are indigenous to the USA = 162.
Number of immigrant languages in the USA = 149 (this includes English).

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.
