I never heard all this whining when Obama was first elected.

Of course not Obama won the popular vote by ~10 million votes.
Clinton won the popular vote by a number approaching 3 million.
Trump has won the electoral college votes by less than 80, 000 votes in three states, assuming the electoral college doesn't have too many faithless voters.
The electoral college may want to consider the Federalist paper #86 about outside interference, considering the CIA and FBI reports.
