I would go forward about 50 years hoping for a cure to prevent spina bifida and then go back to nine months before I was born and give it to my mother.

$50,000 each, pre-owned?

Something in that ballpark, and mostly refurbished. If I had the dough to throw around, I'd get one.

Ok this car talk has convinced me that going back two days to win the mega millions Is just a teaser. I would go back to 1967 and buy a Pontiac GTO and not drive it untill I rewon the mega millions:)

But in order to "buy" the 1967 GTO in 1967; before you take the trip, you would need to exchange your current currency for that of 1960's money. I don't believe they would take today's currency in 1967... They might arrest you for counterfeiting; and call you a poor counterfeiter with that awful looking monopoly money that we use today. I would think it pretty difficult to get your hands on any dollar currency from the 1960's, today; but - good luck.

Aren't gold coins and bars date-stamped and/or serialized?

Minor point. It was illegal to own most gold in 1967 thanks to FDR. If you wanted to take it back in time it would have to be in some form of art and you might not get over $35 per ounce (the fixed price). Platinum or gem stones might be a better option.
