The big thing that keeps me going on a day to day basis is my model building hobby. I build pretty much everything that is produced in plastic kit form and even a few wood kits. The following is a small sample of the models I have built, most of them recently but the model of the USS Constitution dates back to my years in college and was finished in 1972. Since then I have repaired it several times but it has aged well and after retrieving it after my mother died I still have it in my collection. Those are really cool models Bob. My older brother was into putting together models, particularly airplanes because he wanted to be a pilot for a short while. You really seem to have this down to an art. :-) Got any more pictures you want to share? |

Alright... I'm a bit of a model train fan though I don't have any time to actually play around with them these days. I liked those pictures of the rail cars at the end there. :-) Are those models too? Or did you put the dirt and other details on them? They look really good! |

Yes, I am also a model railroader, without a railroad to run my trains on. However I still have several locomotives and probably 100 freight cars. Some were kits I built while others came pre-assembled. Most all got a weathering treatment to more accurately represent how they look in the real world. Bob DeWoody your models look great, I never built any cars, if I didn't know better, I'd swear that they look drivable. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Nice stuff Bob. I think my model building friend Tony would approve. Nearly every flat surface in his home has a model on it. That's him amongst some of his models. Of course he found a way to get paid to build them. http://www.airspacemag.com/military-aviation/martial-arts-39325881/ |

Thank you for sharing this, Bob. My father in his younger years was also very much into car models. Of course, I believe that the model kits back in that day and age were much more intricate than they became later on. He would spend hours on them, and the painting was generally the most painstaking part as I recall. He had over a hundred little bottles of Testor's model paint. Little square bottles, in every color he could get his hands on, and would take a long time deciding what color he wanted to paint every little bit of the model. Little teeny paintbrushes...LOL. You just took me back to some memories I have not loaded into what's left of my memory banks in a very long time. Thank you. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

A couple of guys I worked with at the phone company were hardcore model builders. Mostly WWII tanks and planes, but they also built a whack of NASA stuff and of course Star Wars and Star Trek. Many pieces were on display at the Legion and at the library for quite a while. Thanks for sharing your hobby Bob. I really like the sailing vessels. Those are amazing, Bob. I'm afraid I'd get all those strings tangled up, though. Only model I ever did was a helicopter. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Very cool! The quality of the builds is exceptional! I used to build models, but it has been many years since my last attempt. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

Other stuff looks nice. I like to have nice looking model trains to run, but I don't have the skill or patience to do the modeling.
