I got sent a picture of "that dress" this morning via Facebook chat & the photo was sent via a mobile phone. To me, it looked Black & Blue, but on seeing it on this report...

That Dress

...I see it as Blue & Gold.

How do others see it?

Either very light blue or white and gold.

Gold on white. According to anthropologists, ability to see colors is
sex-linked, in both humans and -- at least -- new-world monkeys. That is
to say, the women/females can perceive more colors than men/males.

If you don't believe it, try finding something in the refrigerator, when
the XYL spots you looking -- with the door open -- for too long. She then
assists, and, voila'.

Many people have undiagnosed partial colour blindness.

So is that why you did not state what colours you saw?

I see blue and black.

Facts. The actual dress is blue and black. The color differences for this dress are unique to this picture and are related to how one's brain interprets the (terrible) lighting in the picture.

Most people will see white and gold. A few people will seize upon the pixels of the image and see red, orange, or a few other colors. Anyone who is able to throw out the bad light information will see the correct colors of blue and black.

Sorry to ruin the Internet's collective argument. :/

5 out of 8 for what was meant as a fun thread in the "so-called" fun section of these boards, expected more to see the funny side...

...especially as the report mentioned: -

"The dress is a classical optical illusion, and that's why people love it."

Ah well, C'est La Vie.

By all means, have fun! :-) We talked about this at work for the first two hours of the day, and I plan on taking it home to show Michele, and eventually her sister and brother-in-law.

As a follow-up, I prefer to see a woman in a dress, any day -- allowing for
the occasion, of course. Would certainly appreciate viewing that, when
worn by a young lady. . . Julie?!!!

(This is, also, directed to all the other Setizen young ladies, but
I'll start with the letter, B, as in Belgium.)

Take it home, and in a similar elitistic way as here, show that you are right, saying that you saw "blue and black", after you had for hours discussed it at work, knowing the right answer the whole time with other words?

Of course you saw "blue and black", since you already knew that was the right colors. And on top of all elitism, you have the nerve to add
"Anyone who is able to throw out the bad light information will see the correct colors of blue and black."

Geeze...Some people just can't stop themselves from destroying the fun in the Café.

I would think the one's ruining the fun are the ones telling others they're elitist. That's OK Sten, we all know you're the grumpy old Swede.
