When I activated my BIONC account for SETI@Home (had been a classic user, so the new account was already created for the SETI@Home 2 of course) I got an account ID.

With Einstein@Home about to go public, and whenever they get Predictor back up (had been spliting CPU time between BOINC and folding@home for now by increasing the priority in f@h and then limiting it to about 50% CPU time so they'd both get on till Predictor is up and running); I'll be looking to split time between these different projects.

Right now I'm only running SETI in BOINC so it's not an issue. But when I sign up for multiple projects, on the stats page, I would of course want my credits all accumulating under one ID (CPID I guess it is).

Do I just need to use the same user ID and email address when signing up for these other projects (when they open up) for the credits to accumulate together (aka for credits gained accross all BOINC projects), or is there something else I need to do when signing up to make sure the leader boards and all recognize it's one person contributing to these different projects?

I'm not smart enough to answer this question. However, I can tell you that Predictor is up and running right now. I'm sending and getting work units just fine.

Let me inform you that Predictor is running again. Einstein (by invitation) has been running also and there are another 4 projects under BOINC running well.
Obviously you have to create an account for each project and the users ID are different on each one. When you ask BOINC to attach to a new project it will require the URL of the project and your password ID for it.

thx guys... So I'm gathering as long as I use the same email address to sign up for the new projects and remain connected to my current projects...the client/servers should make the necessary arrangements for the credit to be accumulated accross the dif projects.

BTW, predictor is back up except that account creation is still closed

http://predictor.scripps.edu/

"Account Creation
The creation of new accounts is temporarily closed, but scheduled to reopen mid January 2005. Thanks for your patience."

That's what I'm waiting for with that project.

As to E@H, it looks like they're about ready to go public

"Dec 31, 2004

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are starting to distribute our final test workunits, named "pt11". These take substantially longer than our previous test workunits. We expect to have our new server hardware in place within a few days, for out public launch. To all of our testers, thank you for making this possible, and please be patient if things don't work quite right for the next few days."

==========

You get a different User ID at each Project, it is tied to that Project only, there is nothing you can do about that. Just use the same E-Mail Address & User Name at each Project, if you do those 2 things then any of the Stats sites will combine your stats together to show your Total Projects Credit at that Site only, or when you use a combined Stats Signature the Signature Site will show all the Projects you run & your Credit Totals...

Use the same email address including case. You must also have a path from project server to host to project server that covers all of the projects in order to synchronize the CPIDs. Each project generates a CPID, and the client chooses the numerically largest of these, and reports this back to all of the projects that it is attached to. Each of the hosts that is attached to these projects downloads the new CPID, and the process repeats untill all hosts and projects are using the same CPID. The stats sites collect the current CPID from each project, and link the user together. This does not work if there is one project that is using one pool of hosts and another project that is using a completely separate pool of hosts. Of course the easiest method of ensuring that the path exists is to have one host that is attached to all projects.
