I am:
SETI@home member since 15 Jul 1999
Total credit 20,268,431

Currently I am running SETI@home on 7 PCs, 4 Windows and 3 Linux (SUSE13.2.and 13.1). recently I have added one more PC (AMD64) on which I installed Solaris 11.2 and really would love to run SETI@home on it. It seems some people had done it successfully. I tried to follow all instructions I could find on google but unfortunately I am not a Unix pro and all my attempts to get SETI@home running were unsuccessful.

Can someone, PLEASE, give here detailed instructions (and I mean detailed) so I can add this machine to the project? (Please don't send me to any websites, because I most likely tried them all).

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can, because although there are third party BOINC clients compiled for Solaris, neither Seti itself nor those third parties have an up-to-date Seti or Astropulse v7 science application that can run on it.

The old v5 and v6 applications will no longer get work around here.

Thank you for your reply. I confirm that all reported successes I saw were for SETI v5 and v6.
Does it mean I am out of luck and would have to install different OS on this machine? Is there a chance Solaris 11.2 will be supported by SETI in the future?

I think your best option is to install another OS on that machine.
Unless a third party goes out of his way to compile Seti and Astropulse v7 under Solaris, I don't think the project will be doing it. They don't have the man power to make versions of science applications for all OSes out there.
