A bit hard to offer any advice with your computers hidden. Just to clarify: is this a dual-core, single-CPU host or a dual-CPU host? I'm not sure but I think there may be complications with dual-CPU hosts. I haven't had any experience with them, though, so I can't say for sure. Soli Deo Gloria |

I'm not sure but I think there may be complications with dual-CPU hosts. I haven't had any experience with them, though, so I can't say for sure. I've not heard of any issues with multi socket systems. I have 7 dual socket boxes running BOINC at the moment. There are various configurations from dual 1c/2t, dual 2c/2t, & dual 6c/12t CPUs. I was even playing around for a while with an older 4 socket system with 4 1c/1t 2.0GHz CPUs. Getting back to the OPs issue. If only 1 task is being downloaded. Is it an AP or MB task? AP is down so only resend are going out at the moment. So if the venue the host is is only has AP enabled. Then downloading only 1 tasks is not a big surprise. However if it is MB then there are many questions. Such as how many projects are configured on the host, SETI@hom project share, BOINC Cache & CPU usage settings. Just to name a few. sorry folks I hit the Update request button and thus got 8 new tasks for the Duel Xeon CPU. When it connected I only received one but since have downloaded more. When you attach a host you will only get one task for each device as part of the initialisation, Boinc should then ask again after when the project backoff ends. Claggy |
