Life, in the water doesn't provide the challenges that living on land provides. So dolphins and whales never had to invent ways to stay alive like humans did. They are both pretty much at the top of the food chain in the water and really only have to find ways to avoid us.

Oh I don't know Bob, Killer sharks seen to do quite well on a diet of humans.

That's because we aren't specialized to living in the water. Sharks don't catch many healthy dolphins or whales which are the mammals I was referring to.

Well, you would probably win lottery more often, then getting killed by shark...so about that nutrition? I'd call it malnutrition or deviance! But unfortunate, of course.

When I lived in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle), in the '60's), I learned
that Orcas almost never bothered humans. We can thank the native North
Americans, for that -- they revered them as gods.

So, they've returned the favor (Sea World, notwithstanding).
