Just had the pleasure of teaching my Mother how to work a smartphone.

Something tells me I'm going to get a lot of phone calls over the next few weeks :)

Well I received the firmware update for My TV today, the TV went from V33 008.00 to V33 008.04, I had received a USB memory stick(a yellow and white Kingston model), I know it's a usb stick, since I just plugged it into My PC, the capacity is 7.25GB, My other stick is 4.00GB by comparison, neat.

When I was done with the flashing(the 57731 and the 65731 both have service port, which is in fact a USB port), the cable card menu would not show up anymore when I pressed the Device Menu button on the remote control and this functionality did not move to another button or menu as a TWC rep asked Me, it's just gone and most of My channels disappeared on both the 1way card and on the 2way cable card, I'm going to talk to Mitsubishi on Thorsday about this, unless they have a new firmware beyond this, I may have to spend roughly $120 on a box that can hold a CableCard and show everything on HDMI. Like this one here, it's a Samsung GX-SM530CF Cable Box and Streaming Media Player with Built-In Wi-Fi.

Ok I just got done with Mitsubishi TV, it seems the firmware upgrade to V33 008.04 from V33 008.00 shutoff the cable card, the 04 upgrade is the last and Mitsubishi will not and can not downgrade the firmware, even renaming the firmware from V33 008.00 to V33 008.05 Mitsubishi can't do, from what Time Warner Cable told Me, if one has a cable card and can't get channels higher than 13, then I am getting the channels as if the cable card was not plugged in to the TV at all. I've got a tech for Midway appliance who might call Me later, Midway will come out here of course, the catch is that there is a $105 trip charge, I may be buying that $120 or so box I mentioned earlier, TWC may be right, that may be My only option.

So I removed the cable card, lo and behold, nothing changed, I have TV service on TWC, known as Starter TV now, with a working cablecard slot I had Standard TV, thanks to Mitsubishi I can't get channels above channel 13 or Standard TV anymore, Mitsubishi said they don't make TV's anymore, so the cablecard slot is written off, so I called TWC with the intention of downgrading to Starter TV and I got a $5 discount per month for 6 months, so as soon as I can I'll be getting that Samsung Box, since it can do both a cable card and hdmi, since the rental fee for the cablecard is $2.50 a month, vs $10.00 for a cable box from TWC.

I was just about to reply to Carlos that I haven't had Fritos on months, but Admiral reminded me that I had a couple of Taco Hell's new slider thingies last week, and they have Fritos in them. Still, I haven't had just plain Fritos by themselves in months.

Fritos, a bag that I get every month.

Right now I can't call anyone, since My cell phone is up against the wall bill wise, I have to wait until the 1st to be able to call, since My plan goes to 400 mins and I've used 400 mins up, next month I'm changing plans to unlimited for $35, instead of 400 mins for $20, but until then I won't be making or receiving any calls, since to get more minutes I'd need another $20 and I only have a bit over $3 currently, so no more calls, Mitsubishi I should call to tell them, TWC said a TWC tech wouldn't be able to do anything to test a CableCard, since the cards only operate in a CableCard slot and I only have one slot and the TV doesn't see more than 95 channels with or without the card, Mitsubishi wanted either a TWC employee to do what I did or for Me to get Midway Appliance out here to examine the TV and I don't have $105 for a trip charge(another reason for moving), to examine the TV without paying $105 is impossible since I only have a small car, a 57" TV will only fit in a van, a minivan or a pickup truck and I don't have access to any of those...

I'm having a real great month, when it rains, it pours, and it's not even Friday the 13th here yet... sigh.
