In the scramble for holiday makers and the race to the bottom in pricing terms, they've probably pared back everything that can be, now the chickens are coming home to roost!

When I was 12 I won some sort of contest on a cruise ship, performing Urbanus (a comedian from Belgium) My mum still has those pics:))))))

A friend of mine, a Merchant Navy deck officer, refused a contract on a cruise ship a couple of years back on the grounds that "the word in the bar" was that it was being operated in a "somewhat casual manner". Subsequent events showed that decision to be a good call - several people didn't come back from the cruise she was offered a post on. A very wise head on very young shoulders - she did land a rather spectacular contract on something "much more fun", even if a bit colder and less fancy...
