As was the case in the U.S. during the Cold War, when fears of nuclear conflict found outlets in films such as Dr. Strangelove Norwegians’ anxieties over Russian intentions will soon burst forth in Occupied, a political thriller conceived by Jo Nesbø, Norway’s internationally best-selling crime writer.

Scheduled to debut on Norwegian TV next year, the weekly drama “follows events in the close future” when Russia has carried out a “silk glove invasion” of Norway “in order to take control of its oil resources,” according to a news release.

"When I presented this idea about two years ago, they said the problem is it's a bit far-fetched," he says happily. "A Russian occupation? They don't really shoot people, they just come and show you they're in control."

Events of the past months in Ukraine have, he thinks, proved him right. "I think the feeling we are secure and things can't really change is an illusion," he says. "That is the scary bit, because things can change very fast. The thing about Scandinavia is that we take things for granted. That is the lesson from other countries. Take Yugoslavia in the 1990s – a democratic country on the right track, and it took Slobodan Milosevic six months to take it to civil war."

In recent months Russian warplanes have been engaging in Top Gun–style stunts far from home, popping up unannounced aside an SAS airliner on a flight between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Oslo and buzzing a Norwegian F-16 pilot. (A widely watched cockpit video of the incident, released by the defense ministry, shows the pilot yelping “Holy s**t!” as a MiG-31 darts past his wingtip.)
http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks/Norsk-jagerflypilot-i-narkontakt-med-russisk-krigsfly-7804477.html?hideTopBottom=true
on January 28 two more Tu-95 bombers, escorted by tankers and Russia’s most advanced MiG-31 fighter jets, showed up off the coast. One of them was carrying “a nuclear payload,” according to the London Sunday Express, which cited intercepted radio traffic. And last fall, a Russian Tu-22 supersonic bomber skirting Norway’s northern airspace was photographed carrying a cruise missile in launching position, according to the Barents Observer blog.

The Russian PROPAGANDA website LifeNews reported as real news that the drummer of the Russian band “Коррозия металла”, Andrey Martynenkov, was forced into Ukrainian military service and to serve in a musical platoon of the Ukrainian voluntary Azov Battalion:)
https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=sv&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.se&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://lifenews.ru/news/149207&usg=ALkJrhh2b6gr1UBKNUGiYvph1mtwWjKTVg
The source of this information was not Martynenkov himself, but the leader of the band, Sergey Troitskiy. “They seized the drummer directly on the street, during his visit to relatives in Rivne western Ukraine” Troitskiy said. “They didn’t leave him a chance to refuse service.”
http://www.stopfake.org/en/lifenews-fake-russian-drummer-from-metal-corrosion-forced-to-serve-in-azov-battalion/

Troitskiy elaborated: “[Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen] Avakov plans to organize a grandiose psychological attack, as it was in the movie “Чапаев” [“Chapayev”]. For this purpose they will use the 666 of war elephants and giraffes, which will move a huge avalanche towards DPR – LPR. They will be accompanied by armoured vehicles, tanks, and catapults from Maidan… and huge bass drums will be installed on the top of elephants. Drummers will beat these…”

Corrosia Metalla is a Russian thrash metal band led by Sergey "Pauk" Troitsky.
It is best known for black humour lyrics and provocative public performances and now in interviews with Lifenews:):):)
Corrosia Metalla with there song "Russian Vodka".

Used to be a fan of CNN, as a 24/7 news source. But...

Besides the mistakes, and increasing blunders: Their level of Professional Journalism has suffered over the past couple of years.

Interesting in the case of NBC Bryan Williams, that the American people hold a newsreader to a higher standard of honesty than they do their own President and Administration. Maybe the lies are an accepted norm for those in public office.......[edit] oops! Sorry Jan, Off topic.

oops! Sorry Jan, Off topic.

No worries:) Russia has newspapers as well.
But their quality...
I have only found Echo Moscow, The Moscow Times and Novaja Gazeta to be good papers. Needless to say, Putin doesn't control them.

This is really too funny.
Aftonbladet, a Swedish newspaper and website, that normally show the temperature in the city you live in on the frontpage.
Now they show the temperature in Novosibirsk in Siberia :)
Or has Aftonbladet been hacked? Or has my computer been hacked...

Once again Vlad's opponents are 'voted' down:

Boris Nemtsov, a former deputy prime minister who became a key opposition figure in Russia, was shot four times from a passing car near the Kremlin.

From the NY TImes:

The attack came less than two days before Mr. Nemtsov was to lead another mass rally against Mr. Putin. The rally’s organizers put out a statement of purpose earlier denouncing Mr. Putin for the country’s growing economic crisis and its part in the war in Ukraine.

Russian representative government in action.

:))

Anyway, Chris.

You do not seem to be very sympathetic with Mr. Putin.

The question becomes who was the one that happened to be speaking of a New World Order.

Are we seeing such a New Order being carried out in practise?

When Mr. Putin became president and therefore in charge, I knew that all of this was one step forward and one step backward.

If you look at the geography of Russia, you may be able to see that it does not have that much access to the big oceans compared with its surface area. In northern areas like the Barents Sea towards the North Pole and also around the Bering Street, ocean ice may be a problem in the winter.

This definitely is a disadvantage when it comes to have a strategic influence and means you are possibly volatile when it comes to this fact.

Also, why not have a look at history and lesson probably being learnt. The Soviet Union lost some 22 million of its people due to wars, famine and internal conflicts during the 20th century. I do not think anyone wants a repeat of this.

So therefore, because many European countries are small, I want to give Mr. Putin yet another chance.

Everyone knows about the big bombers he has flying around and able to create huge damage if it becomes necessary.

Also do not forget about the fighters that are stored both at bases as well as possibly underground.

If it ever should become dangerous, my guess is that Nato would become strained quite soon when it comes to resources.

Therefore the best thing to do would be to stay away the possibility for such events to ever happen and rather adhere to the politic and military agreements that are already in place.

If Vlad didn't order it directly he would've certainly suggested that that action be taken by 1 of his henchmen as has happened in the recent past. ;-)

Cheers.

From Voice of Russia, Swedish edition.
Opposition leader Boris Nemtsov have been killed in central Moscow. This information is confirmed.
Committee of investigation states that at least 7-8 shots were fired.
The Interior Ministry says that there are witnesses to the incident.
A special team has been created to unravel the murder probably committed by professional killers.

Of his public statements to judge so could opposition politician Boris Nemtsov have been suspected to be Washington's agent, writes journalist Paul Craig Roberts.
Roberts has in this connection two versions of his murder in Moscow:

If it was not the CIA destroyed Nemtsov in attempts to blame the responsibility away on Putin as he was killed by Russian nationalists who regarded him as Washington's protégé.

Putin will of course anyway be identified as guilty of the murder of Nemtsov, objects Roberts. Let's just remember what kind disproportionate reaction got the lawyer Sergei Magnitsky's death by the US Congress which adopted anti-Russian sanctions. Western media will insist on groundless accuse Putin of reprisals on the opposition without any evidence, says Roberts.

Putin, however, is too smart to play in the West's hands, like Roberts. Nemtsov has, after its strident statements are not damaged Putin's soaring popularity at all, he points out.

If it was the CIA that eliminated Nemtsov for propaganda's sake, it's not at all a time that their labors rewarded, says Roberts.

From the New York Times.
Life News, a television station with close ties to the Russian security services, quoted a source as suggesting that Mr. Nemtsov was murdered in revenge for having caused a woman to have an abortion.

Yep. Islamists from the North Caucasus couldn't kill Putin so they killed his opponent and critic Nemtsov.
Life News is almost like North Korea state media.
In Ukraine there is dedicated young journalists to be, whos main purpose is to check facts, verify information, and refute distorted information and propaganda about events in Ukraine covered in the media.
Life News "news" are a source of many of those fakes.
They even make fakes about the US. Jen Psaki is one target.
And Sweden (nonsens like IKEA is a supplier to the Right Sector)
http://www.stopfake.org/en/news/

Edit:
Boris Nemtsov: "Yes, I’m afraid that Putin will kill me"
“I have never concealed my political views. I believe that it was he [Putin] who started the war in Ukraine. My attitude to him could not be worse. Especially after Nord-Ost and Beslan”.
Nemtsov spoke of his mother – Dina Yakovlevna Eidman - who in March will be 87. She lives alone in Nizhny Novgorod but follows what is happening in Russia – and in Ukraine.
“She is categorically against what is happening in Ukraine, she thinks it’s a catastrophe and a total nightmare. However more than Ukraine, she’s worried about Putin. Every time I ring her, she laments: “When will you stop criticizing Putin? He’ll kill you!” And she really means it."

The "Mother Goose in Chief" needed a replacement for Susan Rice with just as few brain cells(If either have 2 brain cells between them, they've never been introduced).

Back to topic, it makes no difference "at this point"(to quote a great American stateswoman) whether Nemtsov was a CIA operative or exactly what he said he was, Putin's political machine will portray him as a Western puppet.

"You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." Rahm Emanuel http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/r/rahmemanue409199.html#IuDTxrtT6m21OmUt.99
This will prove to be a prophetic statement soon in America.

Putin will spin this to his advantage no doubt and make the West the goat in some way.

RT, Russian today:
Nemtsov murder: Russian investigators probing provocation, Charlie Hebdo links
http://rt.com/news/236459-nemtsov-assassination-provocation-probe/
What f***ing links. Putin are becoming mental.
Charlie Hebdo is about Freedom of Speech.
Soon Russia will be like Stalin's Russia (Soviet) and those who are putting flower on the scene of the crime of Nemtsovs murder are soon being questioned by FSB.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Security_Service
“There are reports that Nemtsov received threats due to his position over the shooting of Charlie Hebdo staff in Paris,” Vladimir Markin, spokesman for the Investigative Committee said, adding that a possible link to the Ukrainian civil war was also being investigated.

And links to Ukrainian civil war (Russias war against Ukraine that is).
That Ukraine would kill a critic of Putin, how likely is that?
