Bet none of you can get the test to evenly split on even one of the 4 dimensions.

Maybe you could do that if you just kept every answer in the original/neutral position?

I took the test (Myers-Briggs) 2 or 3 times in the late 80s. I do not recall enough about it to know if there were neutral choices. My guess is, no, there weren't. I see to recall consistent answers to multiple questions led to certain qualifications.

I did not set out to split it on 1 dimension, I did.
A year to 1.5 yrs. later, it was not split and on another dimension I had reversed, but I blame that on a breakup with a girlfriend. ;)

Wow, I must've been more tired than I realized when I typed this!
Replace "see" with "seem" and "qualifications" with "classifications" or "categorizations".

Begin the 2nd paragraph with "Although I did not set out ...".

Of 20 replies we have 11 of the 16 types, with Analysts in the lead and Sentinels in second place.

Would anyone anywhere put Es99, Julie, Hev, or Annie down as introverted? The 3 of 7 mods so far are all IN types, one might have expected a mix of diplomats and sentinels, but not one is. What 4 qualities would you want in future Mods?
Also interesting that we have not many of the most common types, and a lot of the rarer types. That I can understand because looking for little green men isn't everyone's cup of tea, and most people think we're barking mad anyway!

Without more data there isn't much more to be got from it so far, other than generalisations. Unless anyone else wants to see a trend somewhere.

I think you need a good mixture of types to have a good Mod team. Evryone brings a differant perspective to the table.

In that case, you heard wrong. Astrology has absolutely nothing in common with psychology and no, its not being used by the military, FBI or CIA because its complete and total nonsense. Let it be clear, but the position of the moon, planets, sun, stars and other heavenly bodies has absolutely zero influence on what you are like as a person.

It's true that the position of the stars has no relevance to one's actions.

But, one's astrological sign can be an indication of what you're like as a person. (Hear me out!)
I've read studies (i could find them if you insist), proper statistical scientific studies that show clearly that Libras and Scorpios do better at life (Greater salary, better job, higher life satisfaction) than Leos and Cancers. (On an overall average, never mind what individuals may achieve).
How can this be? We all know astrology is bunk!
Well, Libras and Scorpios are born September 23rd to November 21st. Which means that at school they're the elder ones in the class year. They're physically stronger during their formative years at primary school (which are so very important) and they retain information better when learning due to being just that little bit older. This head-start carries them onward through life. So there we have a scientific explanation for something that at first glance might appear to be tied to the motion of heavenly bodies, but actually comes down to a very simple earthly reason.
Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge.

Interesting, but what you are describing is merely a correlation, not a causation. Those people (and Im one of them :P ) don't do better because they were born under a certain sign, they do better because of the way we have divided the year (based on harvest season). If we were to change the start of the new academic year to say the 7th of January it would be people born in January, Februari, March who would do better.

That was exactly my point.

Honestly you two would argue about which drop of rain on a window pane was winning the race to the bottom!!!

Well I am an INTP after all. Arguing is my way of reasoning, according to that sites description :P

The test is all messed up with me. It states I am a ESTJ and I may give the outward appearance of that but is missing something. I am a very strong introvert who over the years has learned how to interface with society. Had it not been for several external influences, I would not test as a ESTJ.

Hello fellow ESTJ :-))

Learned ESTJ, I wasn't born that way. If I took the test 40 years ago, it wouldn't have turned out the same.

Out of sync, I know... Catching up on my posts :)

Hello. I'm anniet and I'm an INFJ :)

A mix between Mother Teresa & a whacky Mel Gibson? I may have only read but a tiny fraction of your 5000 posts Annie but yeah... that combo sounds about right! :D

On a side note, I doubt Nicole Kidman actually HAS a personality. Probably should be filed under "generic" :)

I did a little more learning about the test and I can see why it failed to understand me.
Test said Extraverted
I say introverted because I have learned to interact with people so my actions don't match what's inside.

Test said Observant
I am a mix of intuitive and Observant. For intuitive, I am imaginative, rely on my intuition, absorbed in ideas and focus on what might happen.
For observant, I rely on my senses, absorbed in practical matters and focus on what has happened.

The test said Thinking and in this area, the test nailed it.

The test said Judging. For judging, I do like clear rules and guidelines.
For Prospecting, I am good at improvising (but I like to avoid doing it under pressure), and I like to keep my options open, I am relaxed about my work and I seek freedom.

The test didn't say but I am an Assertive personality but a little bit of a perfectionist.

This would make me a (IE)(NS)(T)(JP)(AP) type person. I knew I was messed up but I never knew how much : )

I think it might be a life time of seeing features in others that I admired and adding them to the ones I already have. I would expect somebody younger might have a more clearly defined personality because life didn't have the time to corrupt the personality they started out with.

Isn't it a bitch when you get to the question that is one or the other and you want to mark strongly on both?!

That's why I was responding to questions with a bit more one than the other. The test isn't designed for people who want the best (or worst) of both worlds.
