Im new to this and have been running for a month or so now. My credits were over 3 million but seemed to have reset to zero. Is this normal? Not even sure yet what credits are for... i thought there were just a way to gauge your contribution?

Credits do not reset, which suggests you may have accidentally started a second account. And yes, credits cannot be "used" for anything. They are only to gauge contribution, health of systems, or friendly competition.

I'm failing to see how you could have accumulated 3 million credits in just over a month considering RAC doesn't stabilize until 4-5 weeks out, and with a RAC of only 9.4k per day, you're not going to get to 3 million in 30. 9.4*30 = 282,000, give or take. Your total credit looks correct to me.

My credits were over 3 million but seemed to have reset to zero.

According to BOINCStats you've accrued about the same amount as it shows under your name here, since December 20th 2014.

Same numbers for the Seti@Home statistics.

Your GPU may be fast, but not that fast. Getting 3 million credit might be done overnight when running a project as Bitcoin Utopia, but here at Seti that would require a multi-CPU with many-multi-GPUs system running 24/7 Astropulse only, and even then that would be problematic.

My system runs Multibeam and Astropulse on the GPU only and only when I allow the system to run BOINC, have been doing that for the past year, and while that increased my credits quite a bit, even I haven't reached 3 million yet. At Seti at least. My BOINC total is at the moment, 9,924,607.11 credit and that's taken me the better part of 15 years to do.

I had to reset my password today. After I did this, my account does not reflect BOINC seti@home project. So I've been running seti@home for about 4 years with two computers and have about 1.7 million credits, but that's not reflected in my account. Is it possible that I mistakenly made another account when I reset my password. I'm by no mean a computer geek. I really have no fracking clue.

Your e-mail address is the only unique identifier used by the project. You mess that up and you create a new account. The account you're posting with was created 23 Oct 10 but was never use to crunch with.

It does show two computers http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?sort=rpc_time&rev=0&show_all=1&userid=9351313 that never did any work with this account.

There are two accounts created on the same day , 23 Oct 10, both with the name David Henry, you are posting from the on that has never processed a work unit.

However this one David Henry has and has 1,689,393 credits.

As has been said it is the e-mail address that identifies you to the project so the other account will have a different e-mail.

I appreciate this information. It is possible that I used another email account. I just don't remember. I will try to figure this out. If I cannot, will I have to kill the account and start over?

As I wrote with my other David Henry account, I'm not a network or computer geek. Can someone kindly give me directions on how to delete the other account?

This being a scientific project, the integrity of the project requires that no parts of it can be deleted.

If you want you can change the e-mail to gibberish as well as any other info, including user name, the account contains.

The best thing to do is to leave that account alone, don't change the user name or any other details.
As it has done no work it will only be occupying a handful of rows in a multi-billion row database.
