Had an interesting, if not overly productive, day yesterday out chasing trains. One train in particular. A little green switcher. It was in a yard in Kankakee Friday night, so I went down to see if it still was. It was, but had other engines coupled to the front. But I sat there for a while to see what would happen and my patience was rewarded. A crew finished switching another train and got on that one, and pulled the switcher by me so I could some nice close pictures. Then I moved to another spot in town to get more pictures as it left, but while I was waiting the call of the euphemism became urgent and of course when I got back all I saw was the last half of the train rolling by. So I drove to where I knew it would be stopping again. By the time it got there, they took care of what they needed to do, and it left, it was about dark. So I headed back toward home. But it was nice to get out in the above freezing weather, wearing my light jacket instead of my heavy coat. As for this morning, I have just eaten breakfast. Now I have no eggs. Ping!
